Cheap Girls break up, singer issues apology statement for past behavior

In surprise news, Lansing’s indie-rock outfit Cheap Girls have decided to call it quits. Singer Ian Graham posted the news on the band’s Facebook, complete with a confession of acting in “predatory ways” and “abus[ing] the artist/fan dynamic.”

Cheap Girl streams new album “God’s Ex-Wife Collection”

Michigan’s Cheap Girls have just started streaming their brand new album “God’s Ex Wife Collection”. The album’s twelve tracks create a sound heavily reminiscent of 90’s era rock, which you can check out below.

“God’s Ex Wife Collection” was released via Asian Man Records, and can be bought on the band’s bandcamp page for $8. This marks the band’s first release since Famous Graves, which they released in May 2014 on Xtra Mile Recordings.

Cheap Girls releasing compilation of b-sides, rarities & unreleased tracks

Michigan’s Cheap Girls have announced they will be releasing a compilation album featuring b-sides, rare songs, and previously unreleased tracks. Titled God’s Ex-Wife Collection, the LP is set to release on September 16th through Asian Man Records.

Fat Guy Fest and Shakespeare’s Lower Level have announced the second annual Fat Guy Fest, which will take place at Shakespeare’s Lower Level in Kalamazoo, Michigan August 6th-9th.

Fat Guy Fest announces first round of lineup (Cheap Girls, Worship This! Bike Tuff, etc)

Fat Guy Fest and Shakespeare’s Lower Level have announced the second annual Fat Guy Fest, which will take place at Shakespeare’s Lower Level in Kalamazoo, Michigan on August 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2015.

20 artists are included in the first round of lineup announcements and more artists will be announced prior to August.

Chris’s solo album was originally released digitally on May 16, 2014 via Joey Cape’s (Lagwagon) label One Week Records. It was later released on vinyl through Fat Wreck Chords.

Great Cynics stream new single “Lost & Found”

London’s Great Cynics are streaming their new single that features the songs “Lost & Found” and “Wet Feet.”  You can check out the single here.

Lost & Found was released on a limited run of cassettes that have already sold out online, but the band will have copies on their European tour with Joyce Manor and Cheap Girls.

Great Cynics’ last release was a split with Muncie Girls that was released on March 10th through Specialist Subject Records, which is available for streaming and purchase on Bandcamp.

Cheap Girls’ latest album Famous Graves was released back in May on Xtra Mile Recordings. Joyce Manor’s Epitaph Records debut Never Hungover Again came out in July.



Beach Slang premiers new song “Dirty Cigarettes”

Philadelphia, PA’s Beach Slang (featuring members of WestonEx Friends, and more) has released their third song off of the band’s upcoming EP, “Cheap Thrills on a Dead End Street”. The song is titled “Dirty Cigarettes” and premiered here today.

“Cheap Thrills on a Dead End Street” is set to be released digitally on September 30th, and physically on October 28th on Tiny Engines Records. We’ve been keeping tabs on these melodic punks and streamed the first two songs off this debut EP earlier this month; “All Fuzzed Out” and “American Girls and French Kisses”.

Cheap Girls announce more US tour dates

Michigan rockers Cheap Girls are going to be awfully busy for the rest of the year.

The band were already slated to appear alongside the likes of The Gaslight Anthem, The Hold Steady and Joyce Manor for various tour dates throughout the world. They’ve now got a handful of headlining dates that fill in most of the gaps in the earlier schedule. Check out their full itinerary for the remainder of the year below.
