Legendary Michigan punk act The Meatmen have released a music video for “Men o’ Meat”, the opening track from their latest record Savage Sagas, which is the band’s first album consisting of original material in 19 years. You can check out the video below.

Legendary Michigan punks The Meatmen are taking their act on the road this summer.

In support of their upcoming album “Savage Sagas,” the band are headed west for a series of dates throughout Colorado, Nevada, Arizona and up the West Coast. Check out the rundown below.

“Savage Sagas” is due out in May, and available for pre-order here. It’s the Meatmen’s first release in close to twenty years!



The Meatmen sign to Self Destructo records for release of new album “Savage Sagas”

The Meatmen‘s first new album of original material in 19 years entitled, “Savage Sagas” is scheduled to be released in May 2014 via Self Desstructo Records.

For the uninitiated The Meatmen are a legacy hardcore combo from Detroit that originated in Lansing, MI in 1979. A rotating lineup, which has formerly featured members of Minor Threat, Negative Approach and The Necros, and fronted by hardcore’s original funny-man, Tesco Vee. With notoriously politically incorrect song titles like “I Sin for a Living,” and “Crippled Children Suck,” The Meatmen have left a considerable skid mark on the world of punk rock, hardcore and have influenced acts the likes of Turbonegro, Ween and Mr. Bungle, along with notable fans ranging from Debbie Harry to renowned best-selling author Stephen King.

‘Savage Sagas’ is the first collection of original recordings from the band since 1995’s “Pope on a Rope,” and is set to be released on deluxe limited-edition gatefold edition LP, single sleeve vinyl and CD. “Savage Sagas” will also be available throughout most major digital download/streaming platforms.

Summer tour announcement to follow including fests and special appearances to support the album’s release.

Michigan punk legends The Meatmen just posted a picture of on analaog recorder their Facebook page, indicating that they may have begun recording their new album, which they began funding last May. No further more details have been given, but we’ll keep you posted.

The Meatmen launch Kickstarter to fund new album

Michigan punk legends The Meatmen have launched a Kickstarter project to fund the release of their upcoming album, which is said to be followed by a U.S. tour that will take place next year. Songs that are to be expected to appear on the album include “Dinosaur”, “I’m Gonna Fuck You Up”, “Kill Kunt Koulter”, “The Dwarves are the 2nd Greatest Band in the World… after the Meatmen.”, “12 Soft”, “Anna-Moose”, “Pork Chop and a .22”, “Wizards of the Oblivion” and It’s Amateur Night @ Uncle Buck’s Bikini Club”.

The Meatmen announce European tour

Veteran Michigan punks The Meatmen have just announced a Fall tour across Europe (heavy on Germany), and you can check out the dates right here.

The band’s announcement reads more like a BBQ than a tour, as “The fat, loud Americans will be guzzling beers and throwing down sausages for the next month over the pond with a bunch of new pals!”  Sounds like a good time.



Interview: Tesco Vee (The Meatmen) talks with Steve Miller (The Fix)

Lansing, Michigan punk veterans The Meatmen have been around for over three decades, and are influential in the American punk rock scene. The band shows no signs of stopping, and has even announced the expected release of their upcoming album, “Lansing Liberace”, sometime in the near future.

Recently, frontman of the old punk band The Fix, Steve Miller, sat down with The Meatmen frontman Tesco Vee to discuss what is on the horizon in 2012, as well as the upcoming album, and what it’s like to be an aging punk rocker.

The Meatmen announce east coast fall tour

The Meatmen have announced that they are heading out for a 14-date tour of the east coast this fall. The Black Flag cover band, Black Fag, will be supporting them for three dates, while Youth Brigade will be supporting them for one date. You can check out all the dates here.
