New Hampshire folk/punk artist Alcoa (also known as Defeater frontman Derek Archambault) has announced the release of a new EP titled Thank You.  The title apparently stems from Archambault’s successful crowd-sourcing campaign to raise money for his hip replacement surgery.

Derek Archambault (Defeater) streams “I Don’t Mind” from “Thank You” EP

Defeater / Alcoa frontman Derek Archambault launched a PledgeMusic campaign less than a week ago to fund a much-needed replacement surgery, which he estimated will set him back approximately $50,000.

As a ‘thank you’ for the fans and friends that have already contributed to the fund which is presently at more than 50%, Archambault is streaming a re-recorded electric version of the track “I Don’t Mind” which will appear on the pledge-funded EP, “Thank You.” Check it out below.

We sincerely hope Derek gets the medical help he needs and that it doesn’t cost him an arm and a leg. Defeater last released Letters Home in July, 2013 through Bridge Nine Records.
