The Swellers Stream final song “Not Safe To Drink”

A couple weeks ago, we informed you that The Swellers were working on a new song. We now know what that song is, and also that it was written for a great cause.

You can listen to “Not Safe To Drink” below. The song is part of a massive compilation called Not Safe To Drink: Music For Flint Water Crisis Relief. You can pick that compilation up on Bandcamp, and all proceeds will be going to flintkids.org.

The Swellers released their final album The Light Under Closed Doors in October 2013 through No Sleep Records. They announced their plans to break up in June 2014.

The Swellers writing a new song

Nick Diener of ex-guitarist / vocalist of The Swellers tweeted the other day that the currently defunct band will be writing and recording a new song. You can see the tweet here.

No word on whether or not the band is officially back together, or the reason for the new song, but we’ll keep you posted.

Baggage (ex-Swellers) stream new song “Safety Net”

Michigan rock act Baggage (featuring former Swellers drummer Jonathan Diener on bass/vocals) have premiered a new track titled “Safety Net,” and you can give it a listen below.

The band’s debut EP Cheaper Than Therapy is set to release on December 18th. It will be available on their Bandcamp page.



The Swellers release video for their final show at Groezrock Festival

The Swellers, who recently called it quits, have played their final show. The band went out in style at the annual Groezrock Festival in Meerhout, Belgium earlier this month (May 1st).

Heartsounds announce spring North American tour dates

East Bay punk act Heartsounds have announced a series of spring tour dates spanning the US and Canada. They will be playing with multiple groups including The SwellersCounterpunch, and After The Fall, you can get more information on that below.

Heartsounds most recently released Internal Eyes on October 15, 2013 through Creator-Destructor Records.



Swellers guitarist Ryan Collins forms new band Young Hunger, streams new song

After the demise of his former band, Ryan Collins of the Swellers teamed up with Ben Wixson from Frank White to form a new pop-punk act called Young Hunger. They’re currently working on their debut album, which they hope to release in the Summer of 2015 but in the meantime you can stream their first demo song “Holes In Your Tongue” below.

The band will be playing their first shows in Detroit on February 13th with Undesirable People, and March 20th with Pennywise.

The Swellers, who recently called it quits, is getting ready to head out on the first leg of their final, farewell tour.

The band has released a little lyric video for their song, “Call It A Night” (ironic?). The song is the final track on the band’s latest album “The Light Under Closed Doors”, which was released back in October 2013 through No Sleep Records.

The Swellers announce plans to throw in the towel

Well, this is unfortunate. It looks like the guys in The Swellers have decided to throw in the towel after playing a few farewell shows. Here’s what they had to say in their announcement:

“We had our first band practice twelve years ago today. It’s been an amazing run. Booking some farewell shows soon. Thank you.”

We’ll keep you all posted as more details on the aforementioned farewell shows come to light. The Swellers’ latest album The Light Under Closed Doors was released last October through No Sleep Records.
