San Francisco hardcore outfit First Blood just announced they’ve signed to Pure Noise Records, and they have a new album coming soon. Check out a lyric video for one of their new songs, “Rules Of Life,” below.
Rules will be First Blood’s third full-length, and their first album in seven years, serving as a followup to 2010’s Silence Is Betrayal.
Singer and songwriter Carl Schwartz checked in to say,
”We are really psyched to finally play some of our first U.S. shows in 2011 since the release of our latest album Silence Is Betrayal (Bullet Tooth). Even better, we are sharing the stage every night with our old friends and early 2000’s titans Throwdown to relive a super fun era in hardcore and reminisce in some of the energy and excitement that truly inspired First Blood from our beginnings as a band. So, come join us all together on this upcoming tour and raise your fist in the air, never back down, never give in, and become the force that cannot be denied. Unnecessary suffering, misery, war, injustice, racism, and oppression still exists in 2011. We’ve got to bring this to an end. We must unite. A time comes when silence is betrayal.”
First Blood released their sophomore release entitled “Silence Is Betrayal” last November on Bullet Tooth.

San Francisco hardcore act First Blood have just announced that their months of hard work in the studio have now culminated with the upcoming release of their new album, Silence Is Betrayal. The album is set to hit stores November 9 on Bullet Tooth Records. Here’s a little bit of what vocalist Carl Schwartz had to say about the album,
This album is a story of the last four years of my life along with the events, ideas, and people that helped shape it. I had to release this album, because my own silence would be betrayal to those before me who have spoken, sacrificed, and devoted so much to keep their messages of truth, justice, and resistance alive. My goal was to lay it all on the table with each song, and put aside my concern about whether or not those who listen will ridicule, disagree, or take offense. The message had to be clear, and emotions must be stirred, because such response is vital if people are to discuss and keep these issues at the forefront, and maybe even find the inspiration to take action to share them with others.
Listen to a couple of tracks from the upcoming album, including Enemy and Lies, on the band’s MySpace page.
