The Dead Sparrows (Punk) stream new release “No Core”

After a year-and-a-half hiatus Ontario punk act The Dead Sparrows are streaming their new release “No Core”. You can give the 7″ a listen below.

The band have been writing a lot and say they will be back in the studio shortly to record a full length album.

“No Core” came out on June 8th and is the bands 4th release.



The Dead Sparrows (punk) return from hiatus with music video for new song “BFF”

Just in time for Canadian Thanksgiving, Ontario punkers The Dead Sparrows released a new song and music video.

“BFF” is a song written by the band after they broke up almost two years ago. Though they’ve recently started playing together again, and are obviously, recording new music, no mention has been made as to whether or not the band will release a new proper release.

The Barefoot Sailors stream single “Davy Jones’s Locker” off upcoming 7-inch

Ex-members of The Dead Sparrows recently took DanO’s The Barefoot Sailor project and turned it into a full working band. The Barefoot Sailors are now streaming and offering a free download of their new song “Davy Jones’s Locker”, which will be part a 7″ they are releasing early 2016.

Ontario punk act The Dead Sparrows have released a stream of their new EP A Day in the Life of Everyone., which you can give a listen to below.

The Dead Sparrows released A Day in the Life of Everyone on September 16, 2014.  The band claims this may be their final release as their drummer is pursuing a hip hop venture, and DanO aka The Barefoot Sailor is messing around with a type of indie country sound.



The Dead Sparrows change title of upcoming EP; stream new song “A Man Must Die Alone”

Ontario punk act The Dead Sparrows have announced that the band’s upcoming EP Coming Soon! will now be known as A Day in the Life of Everyone. Additionally, the band has released a new song from the EP titled “A Man Must Die Alone”.

Ontario punk act The Dead Sparrows released a music video for their new song “Start!” over the weekend. You can check out the video below.

“Start!” is a track off the group’s upcoming album Coming Soon!, which is the follow-up to the band’s 2013 EP, No Borders. The upcoming EP can be pre-ordered here.



The Dead Sparrows announce ‘Coming Soon!’ EP, stream new song “Start!”

The Dead Sparrows have announced that their next EP will be titled Coming Soon!. Bassist/vocalist DanO had this to say about the release:

“We have a couple of surprises on this one, we’re very excited. [..] Most tracks are complete, but we’re waiting to have hard copies pressed before we release the album in its entirety.”

While the release date is still up in the air, the band has put up a stream of the EP’s first single, titled “Start!”, which you can stream below.

Coming Soon! will be the follow up to the band’s 2013 EP, No Borders. The EP can be pre-ordered here.

New Music: The Barefoot Sailor (Dead Sparrows side project) – “No Freedom In Country”

DanO, the lead singer and bassist of Ontario punk band The Dead Sparrows, has revealed another new track from his folky side project called The Barefoot Sailor. The new track is called “No Freedom In Country,” and you can check it out below.

“No Freedom In Country” is slated to appear on his self-titled debut EP, which is due for release on March 20, 2014.

DanO, the lead singer and bassist of Ontario punk band The Dead Sparrows, has revealed a folky side project called The Barefoot Sailor. Like many punk-turned-folk front-men before him, DanO almost switches genres completely, but still manages to keep his punk sensibilities well in place.

Right now he’s streaming two new songs, “Anchor’s Away!” and “I’m a Barefoot Man” from his upcoming EP. You can listen to both songs below.

The Barefoot Sailor’s self-titled debut EP will be released on March 20, 2014.

Ontario punk act The Dead Sparrows have released a music video for their single “Timothy”. You can check it out by clicking here.

According to the band, the video was “Shot in an Industrial Park in the little town of Trenton, Ontario Canada, the 1:35 video is a non stop anthem to rebellion. The video location is an anarchist art studio called The Swindle Shoppe, where the local punk scene has exploded in recent months.”

The Dead Sparrows released their latest album No Borders this past July.

The Dead Sparrows recording new album, offer free download of “Timothy”

After two years of playing shows and gaining fans featuring songs from their self-titled 2010 release, The Dead Sparrows have finally decided to get back into the studio to do a follow up album.

Returning to their own studio, Pappa D’s, the foursome are laying down some of what they’re calling “their most progressive stuff to date”. They are estimating a release date of Summer 2013 and live-streaming studio sessions on their facebook for anybody interested in tracking the band’s progress.

In celebration, the band is offering a free download of their song “Timothy” on their bandcamp.
