DS Exclusive: Lay It On The Line (Melodic Hardcore) stream debut album “The Black Museum”

South London based melodic hardcore quintet Lay It On The Line are releasing their debut album, “The Black Museum” on long-running UK punk label Disconnect, Disconnect Records this Friday (June 30th). The 10 song affair is the first to feature vocalist Alice Hour (In Evil Hour) and is the follow up to 2015’s EP “A Prelude To The Process“.

UK melodic hardcore band Lay It On The Line are streaming a second new single off of their upcoming debut album The Black Museum. The song is called “Aim High” and it follows the first single, “Level Up”, which was released last month. You can check the new song out below.

The Black Museum is scheduled for release on June 30th, 2017 via Disconnect Disconnect Records.

London based melodic hardcore quintet Lay It On The Line have signed to long running UK punk label Disconnect, Disconnect Records for the release of their debut full length, “The Black Museum”, which is scheduled for a late May release. The album is the follow up to 2015’s EP “A Prelude To The Process“.

Ahead of that, the band release the debut single from the album, “Level Up”, on March 31st – the first song to feature the band’s heavily changed lineup and new vocalist Alice Hour.

Lay It On The Line (melodic hardcore) release live video session for “We Made Our Hell”, announce new lineup

South London melodic hardcore quintet Lay It On The Line have been quiet since the release of their EP ‘A Prelude To The Process’ back in early 2015. A drastically changed lineup has returned, which sees the band move from a 4 piece to a 5 piece, with Alice from In Evil Hour joining Mike on dual vocal duties.

The band, now recording their debut full length ‘The Black Museum’, recorded a session soon after settling on their new lineup, performing 4 tracks (3 from their back catalogue and a cover of a track by UK skate punks Consumed) for Live At The Lab, the live session studio run by Jack from Giants.

‘We Made Our Hell’ is a track originally taken from ‘A Prelude To The Process’, which, like the rest of the band’s back catalogue, is available for free on their Bandcamp. Check out the session below.

Black Sea Fleet streams new album

Former members of London hardcore band Lay It On The Line have teamed up on a new project called Black Sea Fleet.  The band combines the hardcore style that fans of Lay It On the Line will find familiar, with an added kick of grunge thrown in.  Their debut effort, One Day I’ll Stop Breathing, is a 10-track album that you can check out below.

Lay It On The Line (hardcore) stream new track “Laid Bare” off upcoming EP “A Prelude To The Process”

Hardcore band Lay It On The Line (formed in 2012 in the more depressing parts of South London, England) are back with a new lineup following the band splitting in two during the planned recording of their debut album. Vocalist Mike and drummer Matt carried on – getting Duncan (ex-Hang The Bastard) in on bass and Hannah (ex-The Ramonas) on guitar, they have announced both a new EP and a new album to follow that.

Today we’re premiering the lead track from the EP.  “Laid Bare” is from “A Prelude To The Process” – a five track glimpse into the band’s fascination with the shady cult religion The Process Church of The Final Judgment. All the songs from the EP and the album are based on the teachings of The Process (the inspiration used by Integrity, Rot In Hell and others before them).

Lay It On The Line split in two, to release new album in 2015

South London hardcore punks Lay It On The Line have announced that the band has split into two separate bands, who both have albums coming out next year.

Lay It On The Line most recently released Midnight In the Bellagio on September 21st through Aaahhh!!! Real Records.

Lay It On The Line stream cover of Cro-Mags’ “Hard Times”

South London hardcore punks Lay It On The Line are streaming a cover of Cro-Mags‘ classic song “Hard Times” and you can check it out below.

The original version of the track appears on the legendary New York hardcore act’s 1986 debut “The Age of Quarrel.” Lay It On The Line recorded their cover while working on their latest EP “Vigilance,” which is up for free download on Bandcamp.



Lay It On The Line (hardcore) release “The First Two EPs”

South London hardcore act Lay It On The Line have released The First Two EPs, a full-length album comprised of, not-so-surprisingly, their first two EPs. The first half of the album includes the tracks from A Lesson In Personal Finance, which was released in 2012 and is out of print. The second half includes the tracks from Crowhurst as well as a bonus track. You can stream it below.

The band last released an EP, entitled Vigilance, back in October via Lockjaw and Fire Engine Red Records.
