Newcastle, Australia punk act, Trophy Eyes, released a brand new music video for their song “Breathe You In” from their upcoming album Chemical Miracle.
Lead singer, John Floreani, on the song:
“Sometimes when you love someone so much, you give less attention to how they make you feel, and you focus solely on what you can do for them. When I’m away, I often wonder if there’s someone out there that could give my partner the life she wants. That could be home all the time, and love her and support her at home instead of the other side of the world. I was in Newcastle, UK when I hit a pretty low point in my life. I walked in to every bar as they were closing, begging each one to make me a coffee, because I was worried that if I had one more beer, I’d do myself in. It was 4 months since I’d seen her last, and another 2 until I’d see her again. Everyday the same thought. This is my fault, and she deserves better.”

I live in Melbourne (Aus) and the scene here is awesome. I love being part of the community here whether I’m in a band, running a show or writing! There are so many great artists coming up who are putting out great music that by the time I’ve listened to it all and I’m ready to pen my views something else comes along and grabs me with its riffs and blasts all over again!!! I’m a relatively new contributor to DS but it’s been a great experience so far and I’m looking forward to adding more in 2015. Til then here‘s what grabbed me the most this year locally and internationally. Some bands you probably won’t know, some you will. Enjoy :)

On the track, vocalist John Floreani commented:
Sometimes I think of what my life really is, and what it consists of. Every cloud might have a silver lining, but that would mean ignoring the gigantic mass of dull grey that is the cloud. What if the only thing I’m remembered for when I die is a bunch of shitty sad songs? And who is even going to remember? I am a living example of what actually happens when you dream big, and that is nothing. Hardly a legacy. Penfold is about where I am in life right now, and the moral battle of doing the right thing, even when it’s not what you want but more in the interest of the ones you love.
The band will be touring through Australia throughout November, so if you like what you hear, you can check out the dates and locations for their upcoming shows below.
