The Matches stream new song “Life of a Match”

In direct contrast to previous statements about not recording new music, The Matches have released a brand new song, their first new song in 6 years. Titled “Life of a Match,” the near five minute tune picks up where the band left off in 2007 with A Band in Hope and appears on a new two song single available now. Vocalist Shawn Harris said this of the song and how it came to be:

“None of us really planned on writing new Matches music, but after the shows, we were hit with inspiration and creativity. While we were living in different places around the U.S. and working on other things, we managed to work remotely on a batch of songs, but zeroed in on two.  We wanted them to be great and something you guys would love.”
