New Slapshot music coming soon (again!)

Old-school Boston punkers Slapshot told us a couple of months ago to expect some new tunes in the near future.  Well, apparently, the future has arrived (or at least will arrive real soon).  The band announced today all of their new material is being demoed and it shall soon appear on the band’s MySpace.  As for the DVD?  “…no, we don’t know anything about the DVD….just as frustrated as you!”  Keep an ear out for the new tracks as they’re released!

Slapshot writing new material and playing this summer

slapshot-logoIt’s been a couple of months since we’ve heard something from Slapshot but their silence has definitely been productive.

According to a MySpace blog update, they write:

The band is writing some of the best shit we have ever done, we are taking our time on this one.

We have 1 show booked for this summer so far and are looking to do a few more.

So with that said, keep your eyes on the lookout for Slapshot in 2010!

Slapshot’s last album Tear It Down came out on Thorp Records in 2005.

Slapshot changes their lineup

slapshotIt’s been awhile since we have heard news from Slapshot but, sometimes no news is good news. The band annonced today that they have added some new faces to the band.

The guys also stated this:

We have begun the writing process. It’s been a while since we have done anything and now we are ready to let loose.

I’m sure everyone is just as eager for new material as I am. Slapshot’s last album Step On It came out on TAANG! Records in 2005.

Stars & Stripes is off the Slapshot tour

slapshotSlapshot has announced that they’ve thrown Stars & Stripes off their tour because lead singer of S&S Mark McKay has decided to quit the band and move to Wyoming to become a sheep farmer. Okay I made that last part up. For some reason Mark isn’t going to be on the tour and they’ve decided to replace S&S with Frigate because “it just wouldn’t be the same playing with S&S without Mark!”. Check the bands Dying Scene Shows page to see where they’ll be performing.

Slapshot’s last album “Step On It” came out on TAANG! Records in 2005.
