Australian ska-punks The Resignators release their new album “Party Dates” on September 8th. Ahead of that, they’ve released the first of three videos. The first a is tribute to iconic Australian front man Stevie Wright.

The band on the video: “‘I’m losing you (Evie part 3)’ tells the final story of a relationship that began as teenagers and ends, sadly in this track, with the death of Evie after child birth. DS Photo Gallery: Kingston Stompers, The Funaddicts, The Resignators, The Planet Smashers @ The Jubilee Hotel, Brisbane, Australia (27/10/11)

Not that long ago Brisbane got together for the very first show Montreal’s Planet Smashers would ever play in Australia and it was a party that didn’t stop until well after Ska Nation.  Joining the “Smashers” on this particular evening were Brisbane locals Kingston Stompers, the recently reformed Funaddicts and Australian staples, The Resignators.

Each band stepped up on the evening in question, giving everyone something to remember them by, which was in many cases, a good time.  However it was the Planet Smashers with their vast experience, professionalism, smiling faces and dancing hippopotamus who took the “best in show award” of the evening.  Honorary DS Editor, Stephen Goodwin battled poor lighting and a skanking crowd to take some amazing photo’s of the evening for us.  Check them out here.
