Crime In Stereo announce three “Is Dead” full-album shows

Crime In Stereo have announced they will be playing three shows celebrating the 10th anniversary of their third album Is Dead. Check out the dates below to see if there’s one near you.

The band’s latest album I Was Trying to Describe You to Someone came out in 2010. They began recording new music in 2014 but nothing has come of that yet.



Pass Away signs to Black Numbers for upcoming release

Pass Away is the Brooklyn-based collaboration of Mike Ireland and Kellen Robson of I Am The Avalanche and Eric Fairchild of Crime in Stereo, and their debut EP is coming out soon.

The Black Numbers label will release Hey Death in the upcoming months, but if you just can’t wait until then, you can also get a “quick fix” (see what I did there?) below.



I Am The Avalanche, Crime In Stereo, Spraynard & more to play Oneonta Punk Fest 2014

The lineup for the first-ever Oneonta Punk Fest, which is set to take place on the 25th and 26th of October in Oneonta, New York, has been revealed. Bands that have been announced include I Am The Avalanche, Crime In Stereo, Spraynard, Cassavetes, Timeshares, and many others.

Crime in Stereo posts lengthy status update

If you’ve been wondering what’s going on with Long Island hardcore act Crime in Stereo, you can check out a nice long update they posted on Facebook below.  The band discusses their plans for an upcoming release, the loss of their friend Mitch to cancer, and an upcoming benefit show for him.



Crime In Stereo recording new music

Long Island melodic hardcore group Crime In Stereo are currently recording new music! Here’s a portion of what they had to say:

We are writing and demoing and actually recording new stuff. We can’t wait to get it out to you. We hope you’re as excited as we are. This is far and away the most time we’ve spent hashing out material in a room together since we did The Troubled Stateside. It feels great to just get in a room and play, and we’ve been enjoying every second of it. As soon as there is something for you to hear, you’ll have it. Promise

Long Island melodic hardcore group Crime In Stereo, are currently writing a new album, which fans can expect to be released early next year. Here’s what the band had to say:

Crime In Stereo went on hiatus in 2010. Since then members have gone on to play in bands such as Daytrader and Debtor’s Union. Their final album, I Was Trying To Describe You To Someone, was released on Bridge Nine Records in February 2010.

Pouzza Fest announces full lineup and releases schedule

Montreal’s Pouzza Fest has announced the remaining bands for the annual punk rock festival, and released this year’s schedule as well. Newly announced bands include Crime In StereoDead To MeDirect Hit!Iron Chic, Me First and The Gimme GimmesMixtapesThe Slackers, Timeshares, and Young Statues.

Crime In Stereo lives once again

Big news today folks! Barely two years after their dissolution, Long Island melodic hardcore group Crime In Stereo has announced that they are ending their break-up. In a Facebook status posted today, the band wrote:

“Hiatus rescinded. We are immediately returning to work on recording / releasing new music. We know. We were “only” broken up for two years. Two years was long enough. We loved making music together. Its’ absence was felt deeply by all of us. So we return.”

The band has also announced that they will be playing a reunion show with I Am the Avalanche at The Gramercy Theater in New York City on November 24th, 2012. You can read the full statement here.

Debtors Union (ex-Crime In Stereo) working on new full-length, streaming new song “To The Ground”

Debtors Union, founded by former Crime in Stereo guitarist Eric Kuster, has been working on their debut full-length album for quite a while now but it would appear their is finally a light at the end of the tunnel.  The band hasn’t announced a release date (or any other details around the album) but they are streaming a new track called “To The Ground” which surely will appear on it.  You can give the tune a listen here.

The band is streaming their entire debut EP, “Tonight We Feel Alive,” on their purevolume page.



More details announced for final Crime In Stereo show

As you may already know, Crime In Stereo broke up in August.  You may also be aware that their final farewell show is set for just 11 days away on 21 November.  What was missing from the equation was the location of the event, which will be held at Long Island, NY’s, Ethical Humanist Society of Long Island, and will feature Iron Chic and Transit to open.  Tickets for the concert can be purchased here.

As most of you probably know by now Crime In Stereo recently called it quits. However, in addition to the previously announced “cover show” in Long Island on October 15th, the band has announced that they will be playing their last show on November 21st, also in Long Island. No further details yet, but we will keep you posted.

If you haven’t heard the news about Crime In Stereo, you can forget about that for a minute. The band has announced that they are re-uniting for a one-night-only “cover show” in New York. The show is scheduled to take place Oct. 15 at Bergen Point Country Club in West Babylon, New York. Get your tickets here.

New Music: Daytrader (ex-Crime In Stereo, Bridge and Tunnel) post 2 tracks

Brooklyn emo/punk Daytrader, featuring current and former members of Crime In Stereo, Bridge and Tunnel, Latterman, The Monikers, and others, have posted two new tracks to their MySpace page. The songs, Chromatic Living and Paper Pusher, can be heard here.

Citing influences such as Sunny Day Real Estate, Saves the Day, and Hot Water Music, fans of these bands will definitely want to give this a listen.



Crime In Stereo speak out about breakup

Crime In Stereo broke up–yeah, yeah we’ve heard the news. But why did they? We at Dying Scene promised to tell you guys if any additional information regarding the breakup surfaced. Well, here ya go. They wrote their final statement, and you can read it here.

Looks like they’ve got a couple more shows to perform before they pull the plug. These shows haven’t been announced yet, but we will let you know when the word gets out.
