Posted by jaystone on Wednesday, May 11, 2011 at 4:51 PM (PST)

Possible good news for fans of emo band Artist Vs Poet today. As we told you a couple of weeks ago, the band announced that their singer (Tarcy Thomason) and drummer (Joey Westbrook) had made the decision to leave the band. Thomason, however, recently announced a new project, and this time he’s keeping it in the family.

Project 7 and 8 is Tarcy’s new endeavor, though at this point it is just he and his brother Tauvy. The duo are busy writing and recording new material, and can be seen here working out a new track entitled “Worth It.” If you are interested in more, the only source of Project 7 and 8 information is their twitter page.

Artist Vs Poet loses vocalist and drummer

Posted by hayley on Thursday, April 28, 2011 at 9:44 PM (PST)

Sad news for all you Artist Vs Poet fans. The band announced that vocalist Tarcy Thomason and drummer Joe Westbrook have decided to leave the band. On a brighter side, the remaining members have insisted they are not breaking up. Here’s what the remaining members had to say.

The band will be continued on by Joe Kirkland, myself (Jason Dean), and Dylan Stevens. Joe will now be playing guitar and also singing lead vocals, Jason will still be playing bass guitar and failing as usual, and we are now welcoming our newest member Dylan as guitarist and singer. Joe K and I realize that the departure of Tarcy and Joe W may come as a shock to some of you and let us assure you it was a shock to us. These were two events that were completely out of our control. We began to look back on all the years and all the support and love we have received from every single one of you and we decided that we were in no way done with Artist Vs Poet. We would like to say thank you to everyone who has supported us in the past and we could not say THANK YOU enough to everyone who continues to support us with this new line up.

Artist Vs Poet, the band’s self-titled album, was released in 2008 on Fearless Records.
