Despite a string of high profile shows, including sets with Death By Stereo, Authority Zero, Voodoo Glow Skulls, and Ignite to close out 2011, LA punk/hardcore band, Eken Is Dead, was left in a bit of limbo regarding their immediate future with the departure of long time drummer, Jack Espinoza.

Finding a committed and skilled drummer to continue waging war on stages across the nation in an independent band seemed like a very daunting task but fortunately for the band, with the relentless support from fans, friends, and family, the search for the man who would fill the void behind the drum kit ended quickly this week with the addition of Jake Hanson to the EID lineup.

Eken Is Dead are very excited about the addition of Jake who is an excellent compliment to the EID sound. EID has big plans for 2012 and look forward to Jake being part of the next phase of evolution as well as him impressing and surpassing expectations from the fans eager for the band’s return.

Eken Is Dead has started rehearsals in anticipation of getting back on stage and back on the road as early as mid-March and continue supporting their 2011 release, “What Lies In The Mirror” on Blacksound Records. Show and tour announcements will follow soon.
