Gang of Four announce new album and tour

British post-punk legends Gang of Four have announced that they will be dropping a new album on February 24th through Metropolis Records. The album is titled What Happens Next, and it is a follow up release to 2011’s Content. The album is also said to feature a variety of guest appearances, which include Alison Mosshart, Herbert Grönemeyer, and Hotei.

In addition to releasing a new album, the band has also announced that they will be hitting the road. You can check out the tour dates and locations below.

Gang of Four announce Australian tour

British post-punk legends Gang of Four will be embarking on a four-date tour of Australia in March to celebrate the 35th anniversary of their debut album Entertainment!. The band will be playing the aforementioned album in its entirety on the tour. All the dates are below.

Reverend Horton Heat discusses the meaning behind “Longest Gonest Man”

Fans of The Reverend Horton Heat‘s live shows might recognize the song “Longest Gonest Man,” and fans will finally have a chance to own a recording of the 30-year-old track.  The song will be featured on the psychobilly trio’s upcoming album, REV, which will be released on January 21st via Yep Roc Records.  

According to a recent interview, the “reverend” Jim Heath said that the demo of “Longest Gonest Man” was given to the Sex Pistols‘ Johnny Rotten by a dj in Dallas thirty years ago.  Apparently Johnny liked what he heard, and the band has kept the song in their live sets ever since. The rest of the album will be a return to the good ol’ psychobilly rock you’ve come to love from The Reverend Horton Heat.  It will be a welcome change for some fans, after the band released the country album Laughing and Crying with the Reverend Horton Heat in 2009.

The Reverend’s last album, “Liquor In The Front” was released on Sub Pop in 2006.
