DS Staff Picks: Gina Skidz’s Top 10 Albums of 2016

Well, 2016 hasn’t exactly been a stellar year for me.  I got laid off in a totally anticlimactic but still horrifying manner, and not having a commute meant not listening to as much music as I normally do.  When I started this list, I thought I’d have trouble coming up with a Top 10.  I was shooting for a Top 5 or so, when I realized I had made it to 14 awesome albums before I even paused to count. That’s the beauty of working for Dying Scene–I’m so lucky to get to write about awesome new bands and I constantly discover new favorites.  There were a lot of great albums this year from the bigger names in the scene (Brian Fallon’s Painkillers and The Interrupters’ Say It Out Loud particularly rocked my world), so I tried to focus on some of the ones you may not have heard of, in no particular order because they’re all awesome.

Check out my list below.
