Brooklyn punk rock outfit Up For Nothing have announced that they will release their new EP “In Trace” on April 26th on It’s Alive Records / Swamp Cabbage Records. Here’s what they had to say:

Hey friends! We would like to OFFICIALLY announce that our “In Trance” 7 inch vinyl will be co-released on It’s Alive Records (California) and Swamp Cabbage Records (Florida) in mid April. It is an absolute honor to be included with the bands that have been associated with these labels, some of which are without a doubt my favorite bands around at the moment. We’d like to personally thank Adam and Andrew for their willingness to help us out and every one who reads this post for keeping up with us and our updates! We will be kicking off our eighth east coast tour on March 22nd in Baltimore, MD and we will be announcing our July Canadian tour dates in about a month.

Band Spotlight: Up For Nothing

Posted by Lauren Mills on Monday, April 11, 2011 at 1:33 PM (PST)

Having never stepped foot in New York, New Jersey or Connecticut I have a rather strong affinity for the Tri-State area.  Some might find my geographic crush a bit odd but it’s well deserved based solely on bands the region seems to produce. Brooklyn’s Up For Nothing is one of those bands. Remember when bands played “pop-punk” that still actually had something to do with punk (I.E. Bouncing Souls, Grey Area, or even SoCal’s Face to Face)? They had a sound that was more authentic, before the mainstream bottled it up and mass produced it for America’s tweens.  Well, Up For Nothing reminds me of that. Good, heart on your sleeve, fast and fun pop-punk. No hair straightener included. These Brooklyn punks don’t need a lot of fancy words to describe their sound.  The music speaks for itself and you can give it a listen right here.
