Hardcore punk band Death By Stereo covered Slayer’s song “Raining Blood” while performing at the House Of Blues in San Diego, CA. Here’s what the band had to say: “R.I.P. Jeff Hanneman. You will be missed eternally. Here is our humble tribute to you and your amazing band. We still can’t wrap our heads around the fact that you are gone. Your influence is infinite, no compromise as a way of life. Thanks for the heavy tunes man. You made us all want to smash our skateboards through windows and yell “SLAYER!!!” out at shows, in parking lots, at people, at the world.

You can check out their cover here.

The band released their latest album, Black Sheep of the American Dream,” in April 2012 through Viking Funeral Records.

It is typically pretty rare for me to see the same band twice in one week, but such was the case a couple weeks ago when Pennywise paid a visit to the Greater Bay Area of California. The Sacramento show and the San Francisco show not only varied in their lineups, but also in their overall vibes. While the SF show featured what I consider to be more ‘quintessential’ Pennywise raucousness, the Sacramento definitely had a little bit more unbridled energy from the fans.

And of course, what SF show is complete without a little cameo from NOFX’s Fat Mike…errr Fit Mike, who joined the band on stage for a little rendition of “Murder The Government”. Classic.
