Texas punks Fat By The Gallon are making a bunch of news, including the announcement that they’ve signed on with Dang! Records. The retooled band also just released a new EP, Drunk & Despondent, which you can stream and/or buy below.

The Pajammas (Texas prog punk) release new album, “Portents and Prophecies”

The Pajammas, everybody’s favorite Texas-based prog punk band, have unveiled a brand new album. It’s called “Portents and Prophecies,” and it chronicles the last six books of The Aeneid. You remember The Aeneid from AP World Lit. class, right? No? Get it here!

Anyway, “Portents and Prophecies” was released January 22nd, and is available for stream and digital purchase right here. It’s the follow-up to the band’s 2012 EP, “Remnants of Fallen Walls” which, as you might imagine, chronicled the first six books of The Aeneid.


Allout Helter (melodic hardcore) stream new EP “Ruins”

Denver’s melodic punk band Allout Helter have released the follow-up to their 2013 debut album, Sinking, We Regress.  The new 6-track EP called Ruins is currently only available digitally (and you can pick it up here), but the band anticipates a vinyl issue in the near future.

“Last Line of Defense” is a b-side from their latest studio album Anchors Astray which was independently released in 2010. Sic Waiting last released an EP titled Vices on September 4th, 2013 through Dang! Records.

Texas punks Samuel Caldwell’s Revenge have a new video out for their song “Inside Every Cynic Is A Disappointed Idealist.” Check it out below.

The song is off the band’s 2012 album, Nonstarter. Samuel Caldwell’s Revenge haven’t put out any new music since that album, but if it’s any consolation, you can download the entire album for free/name your price here.

We can expect some “new music” soon from SCR, as they recorded a cover of Lagwagon’s “Love Story” for an upcoming compilation to be released with the A Fat Wreck documentary.

Get your band featured on the upcoming “A Fat Wreck” documentary

A few weeks ago the guys working on the upcoming “A Fat Wreck” punk-u-mentary opened up submissions to be on their upcoming Fat Wreck Chords tribute compilation and now they’re running a contest for a few more bands to be added to the physical release of said comp and one lucky band to get featured on the documentary itself.

Some of the bands that are already set to feature songs on the film are Jon Snodgrass (Armchair Martian), Big D and The Kids Table, The Scandals (NJ), The Shell Corp, Stabbed In Back, and Karbomb.

“A Fat Wreck” is a short documentary about Fat Wreck Chords, which was mostly filmed at Punk Rock Bowling 2013. It features interviews with Ryan Greene, Joe Sib, JT Haabersatt, Mike Wiebe, Denise Borders, Tim O’hara, Dave Buck (owner of Dying Scene!) and many more.
