Jaya The Cat announce new album “A Good Day For The Damned”

Amsterdam, NL (via Boston)’s ska/reggae exports Jaya The Cat have announced a new album. Set for a November 17th release through Bomber Music, the band’s fifth album “A Good Day For The Damned” has been teased with a video for lead single “Sweet Eurotrash”.

UK psychobilly act The Zipheads has premiered a brand new music video for its track “No 2 Ways About It”.

Random Hand release posthumous video

UK ska punks Random Hand have released a video for “Pack It Up”, from “Hit Reset“, the album they released shortly before they split up. The video is made from recently found 2014 tour footage.

Petrol Girls (post-hardcore) hit the studio to record debut album

Hardcore rage-smiths Petrol Girls have announced that their debut album is well underway. The band have teamed up with producer Tom Zwanzger and are currently laying down 10 new tracks at S.T.R.E.S.S. Studio in Graz, Austria.

The album is set for an Autumn release via Bomber Music.

“We’re really excited to be working with Petrol Girls, they are an important new band with something to say says Donagh O’Leary of Bomber Music. “We’re expecting a great album from them, full of real raw emotion and intelligent anger – things that are sorely lacking in most other bands these days.”

Petrol Girls released the E.P, Some Thing in February 2016.

Petrol Girls (feminist post-hardcore) stream upcoming EP “Some Thing”

Today we are stoked to bring you the exclusive US premiere of feminist post-hardcore band Petrol Girls upcoming EP “Some Thing”. If you’re unfamiliar with the band, their music combines manic jagged rhythms with vocals that range from furious screaming to intricate melodies and harmonies. Drawing direct influence from Refused, White Lung, Bikini Kill, Fugazi, RVIVR, Propagandhi, At The Drive-In and War On Woman, I think most of you will find something you like about this band.

Petrol Girls identify explicitly as a feminist band and draw on personal experiences to challenge and ridicule sexism, as well as exploring wider political themes, such as alienation, mental health and the current anti-austerity movement.

“Some Thing” is slated for a multi label release on February 19th through Bomber Music (pre-order) in the UK, Laser Life Records (pre-order) in the EU and Panic State Records (pre-order) in the US.

Jaya the Cat release video for “Fake Carreras”

Jaya the Cat have announced released a video for their new single “Fake Carreras,” which you can watch below.

“Fake Carreras” appears on the band’s 2012 album The New International Sound of Hedonism. The band most recently re-released their 2007 album More Late Night Transmissions With… on May 16, 2014 via Bomber Music.

Initial lineup announced for 2016 Manchester (UK) Punk Fest (Ducking Punches, Darko and lots more)

It’s still a bunch of months away, but preliminary information has been released for the 2016 installment of the Manchester Punk Festival. Going in to its second year, the MPF is a grassroots effort spearheaded by three local, DIY promoters. The gig takes place April 22nd and 23rd at a variety of different venues, and the preliminary lineup includes the likes of Ducking Punches, Darko, Great Cynics, Wonk Unit, and a bunch more. Smokey Bastard share animated video for new song “Baba Yaga”

UK folk-punk act Smokey Bastard have shared an animated video for their song “Baba Yaga”. Check out the video and some upcoming tour dates below.

The song comes off of their new album “Back to the Drawing Room”, which came out only a few days ago. It’s the band’s most recent release since Tales from the Wasteland on Bomber Records in 2011.

The band from Chepstow, Wales made their US debut last year by opening for Nekromantix. They describe their latest release Dead Transmissions as “piss and vinegar in places, affectionate in others, but rocking everywhere.” Dead Transmissions is available through CD, 12″, and Digital Download through Bomber Music

UK folk-punk act Smokey Bastard will be releasing their new album Back to the Drawing Room on November 13 via Bomber Music but you don’t have to wait until then to hear it. If you’re a fan of banjo/mandolin/accordion infused punk rock we’re going to have to insist that you stop what you’re doing and stream the album below.

Smokey Bastard will be hitting the road in the UK this November in support of the new release. They put on a helluva live show so catch them if you can.
