Twitching Tongues sign to Metal Blade Records

Los Angeles metal act Twitching Tongues have announced that they have signed with Metal Blade Records. The band made the announcement via a very short video, which also features a tiny clip of what is likely a new song. You can check out the promo video below.

Twitching Tongues released their sophomore album, In Love There Is No Law, on August 13, 2013.



Cancer Bats (hardcore) post video for “Devil’s Blood”

Toronto hardcore act Cancer Bats have a new video out for the song “Devil’s Blood,” and you can check it out below.  The video features footage fellow Canadian Chijioke Okafo, a Toronto-based pro-BMX rider.

The track can also be found on the band’s new album, Searching for Zero, which came out earlier this month on Metal Blade Records. Cancer Bats are currently on tour, and you can find all the datse and details here.



Between the Buried and Me announce tour dates in support of upcoming album “Coma Ecliptic”

Progressive metal band Between the Buried and Me will be heading out on tour this April, and again in July in support of their upcoming album Coma Ecliptic which is set to be released on July 7th via Metal Blade Records.

Canadian hardcore act Cancer Bats have premiered a new video for the song “True Zero” off of their upcoming album, titled Searching For Zero, and you can check it out below!

Searching For Zero will be released March 10th on New Damage Records and will serve as a follow up to Dead Set On Living, which was released in 2012 through Distort Records.



Wovenwar announce tour with In Flames and All That Remains

SoCal based Wovenwar (ex-As I Lay Dying; Oh, Sleeper) may be in the middle of a huge tour with Periphery, but they have just announced that after this tour they will tour as support for metal-icons In Flames and metalcore act All That Remains. The band also plan on releasing a music video for their song “Death To Rights” in the coming weeks.

Between the Buried and Me begin work on new album

Progressive metal band Between the Buried and Me have started to work on their next album, which will happen to be their eighth full length album. Between the Buried and Me front-man Tommy Rogers had this to say about the new album:

I’m very proud to say that we are now recording a brand new BTBAM record. We have really pushed and challenged ourselves more than ever with this material. It is a perfect representation of where we stand as musicians and as people. This is our voice in the current age of music. Evolution is a must. We now enter the coma and we will see you on the other side… hopefully.

SoCal based Wovenwar has just announced a huge US tour set to begin in the new year. The band will head out with Periphery in North Carolina, and is set to travel pretty much all over the US and a couple Canada dates.

GWAR covers Pet Shop Boys “West End Girls”; heads out on US tour

Virginia based scumdogs GWAR recently visited The A.V. Club for their popular Undercover Series. The band previously performed a couple random songs like “Carry On Wayward Son” and “Get Out of My Dreams, Get Into My Car”, and this time would be no different.

The scumdogs decided to perform the Pet Shop Boys classic “West End Girls”. Take a look here and have fun.

Canadian hardcore act Cancer Bats have premiered a new song titled “Arsenic” and you can check it out below!

The song is off of their upcoming new album, Searching For Zero. This album will serve as a follow up to 2012′s Dead Set On Living, which was released through Distort Records.



GWAR release trailer for “Let There Be GWAR” documentar

A trailer has been release for the upcoming GWAR documentary bearing the same title as their 2004 demo compilation Let There Be GWAR. The film focuses on the early years of the iconic Virginia metal band’s long career, and it was directed manager Don Drakulich and produced by backup vocalist Bob Gorman.

GWAR will be embarking on their first tour since the death of frontman Dave Brockie, also known as Oderus Urungus. Brockie passed away earlier this year due to an accidental heroin overdose, and was recently commemorated with a viking style funeral at the band’s annual GWAR B-Q.



Between the Buried and Me release Future Sequence: Live at the Fidelitorium trailer

Progressive metal band Between the Buried and Me has released a trailer for their upcoming live DVD Future Sequence: Live at the Fidelitorium. The DVD features the band playing the entirety of their 2012 album The Parallax II: Future Sequence at the Fidelitorium outside Winston-Salem, NC. Between the Buried and Me front-man Tommy Rogers had this to say about the release:

“We are very happy to announce that we are finally doing a DVD for the Future Sequence. In this age we live in you can watch us play any of our songs live online. So we wanted to give our fans something a little different…an intimate live performance of us playing in a studio. It will be a wonderful experience and I hope you all enjoy it as much as we enjoy playing these songs”

Video: Dave Brockie’s (GWAR) viking style tribute funeral

As we already reported, Dave Brockie also known as Oderus Urungus the lead singer of Virginia’s metal band GWAR , passed away on March 23th.

Last friday, Hadad’s Lake located in Richmond Virginia, was hosting a commemorative tribute celebration in honor of Dave Brockie’s life. Family members, friends, many bands and fans attended the viking style funeral where his Oderus Urungus costume was set on fire on a small boat floating on Hadad’s Lake (photo above). A video of the celebration was uploaded to youtube and you can check it out below

R.I.P Dave, you’ll be missed.
