As most of you know, As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis was arrested last year for attempting to hire a hit man to kill his wife. Welp, apparently all you get for trying to murder the one person in the world you’re supposed to care the most about is 6 measly years in prison.  Does that seem a little low to anybody else?

Anyway, there’s a pretty thorough breakdown of the hearing and the testimonies here.

Lambesis also did an extensive and really interesting interview with those bastards* at Alt Press.  Read that one here.

*they’re only bastards cuz its a good interview and we weren’t the ones who did it.

As I Lay Dying front man, and accused attempted wife murderer Tim Lambesis has eroded his credibility even further, including with his own bandmates.  Apparently, the statement we posted earlier today was all conjured from the mind of Lambesis who failed to communicate any of the information with his label and bandmates untill said statement was posted.

Anyway the guys from As I Lay Dying have released a statement of their own which you can read below:

Cover songs are like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re going to get. We here at Dying Scene love hearing punk bands do their own take on other band’s songs. Sometimes they pull off amazing interpretations of old classics, sometimes they’re not much more than humble tributes to a fellow artist, and other times they’re just downright laughable renditions of otherwise great songs. Good or bad. Intriguing or mundane. We’ll let you be the judge.

Today’s cover comes from Florida’s finest Evergreen Terrace, who covered the Operation Ivy classic “Knowledge”. The original is taken from Operation Ivy’s 1989 iconic album Energy, while the Evergreen Terrace’s version appears on their 2004 covers album Writer’s Block.

You can listen to both versions of “Knowledge” below.
