Cover songs are like a box of chocolates; you never know what you’re going to get. We here at Dying Scene love hearing punk bands do their own take on other band’s songs. Sometimes they pull off amazing interpretations of old classics, sometimes they’re not much more than humble tributes to a fellow artist, and other times they’re just downright laughable renditions of otherwise great songs. Good or bad. Intriguing or mundane. We’ll let you be the judge.

Today’s cover comes from Florida’s finest Evergreen Terrace, who covered the Operation Ivy classic “Knowledge”. The original is taken from Operation Ivy’s 1989 iconic album Energy, while the Evergreen Terrace’s version appears on their 2004 covers album Writer’s Block.

You can listen to both versions of “Knowledge” below.

Tim Lambesis’ (As I Lay Dying) wife seeks $2 million in court

Posted by Drea on Tuesday, November 19, 2013 at 5:58 PM (PST)

As most of you know, As I Lay Dying singer Tim Lambesis was arrested for attempting to attempting to hire a hit man to kill his wife. As most of you probably don’t know, his wife has filed a lawsuit against him for $2 million. Lambgoat reports:

“On August 2, 2013, Meggan Lambesis filed a civil suit, seeking significant monetary damages from her not-yet-ex-husband. This suit was filed nearly one year after she filed for divorce, in the same courthouse where her husband is facing his much-discussed criminal case.

Meggan claims “personal injury” and “assault, domestic violence” and “intentional infliction of emotional distress;” these injuries from when her husband allegedly hired a hitman.

“The solicitation of another individual to commit murder upon a spouse is abuse….The actions of the Defendant …constitute an actionable assault….Timothy Lambesis’ actions were intentional, reckless and outrageous….the actions of Defendant are not tolerated in a civilized society…” are some statements found in the latest action.

In this case, Meggan Lambesis is asking $1 million for emotional distress and $25,000 in medical expenses to date, in addition to $75,000 for future medical expenses and $1 million in punitive damages. The suit also seeks attorneys’ fees.

The next court date for the civil matter is set for April 2014, in San Diego’s North County Superior Courthouse.”
