Lucky Scars (pop-punk) premiere “Bandita” off upcoming EP “Rock And Roll Party Foul”

Toady we’re stoked to bring you a new track premier from Orange County’s Lucky Scars (featuring former Ignite guitarist Nik Hill, and Jon Bunch of War Generation, Further Seems Forever, etc.). It’s for their song “Bandita” and lead singer Johnny Scars had this to say about it:

“Bandita is based on a true story. A Mexican-Filipina assassin was out to kill me. I still sleep with one eye open. I was in love with her and still am. I hope she asks me to marry her someday.”

Lucky Scars (feat. members of Ignite, War Generation) sign to Spartan Records

Cali rockers Lucky Scars are a relatively new band, but they have a lot of cumulative experience under their belts.  Founded by Johnny Scars (War GenerationFurther Seems Forever) and Nik Hill (Ignite), Lucky Scars just signed to Spartan Records for the release of their debut EP.

When asked about the band’s decision to sign to Spartan, lead vocalist Johnny Scars had this to say:

“(Label owner) John T. Frazier agreed to a year’s supply of beer. How could I say no to signing with Spartan? This will guarantee great records for the year to come.”

The EP, which will be called Rock n’ Roll Party Foul, is due out on Spartan on October 23rd.  The EP was produced by Jim Monroe (CJ Ramone, The Adolescents) and mastered by Stephen Egerton (Descendants, All, Flag) and will be issued on limited edition 7″ vinyl and will also be available digitally.

Demons announce debut EP “Great Dismal,” release video for “Radical Cure”

Virginia Beach punk band Demons (the new project of longtime Mae guitarist Zach Gehring) have announced that they will be releasing their debut EP, Great Dismal, on June 16th through Spartan Records. Check out the artwork to the left and the tracklisting below.

The band also released a skate-inspired video for their song, “Radical Cure.” Check it out here, or stream another song called “Parallel Lines” below.

Spartan Records announce first ever SXSW showcase lineup

Seattle-based label Spartan Records have announced the lineup for their first ever showcase for South By Southwest. Check out the show flyer below.

The lineup consists of Kentucky indie-punks the Foxery, Virginian post-rockers Shy-Low, Nashville emo group Daisyhead, and Norwegian noise-punk/hardcore band Barren Womb (their first ever U.S. performance).

The showcase will be held in Austin, TX at 11pm on Saturday, March 21st at Bar 96 (96 Rainey St.), and you can RSVP here.
