Anti-Flag premiere new video for “Finish What We Started”

Anti-Flag has premiered a video for “Finish What We Started,” a song off their newest album, “American Fall.” The band is currently on tour.

I just caught their show in St. Paul last week, and it was pretty great. I’m not their biggest fan, but they (and all the other bands) put on a great show. I went to the show and drank beer for science; I hadn’t seen them live since the Death of a Nation tour with Against Me! and None More Black back in 2003 or 04, and I was curious to see what an Anti-Flag show would be like today. Hopefully I’ll have some words on that by the end of the week.

Anyway, check out the video below! And check out the tour if you get chance, even if you think you’re too old and cynical to enjoy yourself at an Anti-Flag show.

While perhaps not entirely as enjoyable to Dying Scene readers as last year’s edition of the Vans Warped Tour Presented By Journeys was, there are still a handful of kick-ass bands playing.

The lineup, which you may have seen a leaked version of floating around in recent days, includes Anti-Flag, Bad Cop/Bad Cop, The Adolescents, Big D and the Kids Table, CKY, GWAR, Goldfinger, Hatebreed, Sick Of It All, TSOL, Strung Out, Suicide Machines, Street Dogs, and a bunch more. Anti-Flag talks about the possibility of a 2017 album release

Fans of Anti-Flag may have something to get excited about in 2017.  Although there’s no official word yet, Anti-Flag’s recent interview with Billboard magazine hints at a new, “angry” record that could come out sometime this year.

Guitarist/vocalist Justin Sane had this to say:  “Ultimately I just want to make the best record we can,” he says. “I think that for as much as the politics about all this are going to matter, writing the best songs we can and playing music is something that helps me keep my sanity — even when we’re doing songs that are political in nature and about difficult problems. So we want the music to be good, not just angry.” He’s hoping for a fall release, but Sane also doesn’t want to rush into topical commentary without giving issues some time to develop.”

Anti-Flag’s last studio album was 2015’s Cease Fires.

Anti-Flag (punk-rock) announce live charity EP “Live And Acoustic In Vienna” and competition

Stalwarts of the politico-punk scene Anti-Flag have announced the release date for an acoustic EP recorded in Vienna last year. The EP differs from the norm somewhat in the fact it was recorded in one take at Supersense Wien, a one-of-a-kind analog “direct to vinyl” studio and the band plans to donate all the proceeds to Amnesty International. The EP will feature five classic Anti-Flag numbers and one Ramones cover and will be available to buy from June 24th. Along with this the band are also running a competition to win a unique copy of the record to coincide with the release in an effort to help generate sales (and therefore extra revenue for Amnesty).

Details of this competition, along with the a statement from Anti-Flag regarding the release can be viewed below.
