Slayer to embark on final tour

Metal icons Slayer have announced that, after 37 years together, they are “making their exit” with a “final world tour.”

The band made an announcement this morning, saying: “Slayer to tour the world one more time…,” and they confirmed on their official website that they will embark on what will be their final U.S. tour this summer, with support from Lamb of God, Anthrax, Behemoth and Testament. We’ll keep you posted as official tour dates come to light.

A 30-second video clip of Slayer confirming that they will embark on their final tour together can be viewed below.

Slayer’s most recent studio album, Repentless, was released in September 2015 on Nuclear Blast. It was their first album since 2009’s World Painted Blood, and their first one with Exodus guitarist Gary Holt as the replacement of the Jeff Hanneman, who died in 2013.



Agnostic Front announce Punk Rock Bowling club show w/ The Old Firm Casuals & more

Another club show has been announced for the 20th Anniversary edition of Las Vegas’ Punk Rock Bowling. Taking place at Fremont Country Club on May 27th, the show will be headlined by New York hardcore legends Agnostic Front. Support bands include The Old Firm Casuals (ft. Lars Frederiksen), Bad Co. Project, and Crim.

A new trailer has been released for the upcoming Agnostic Front documentary The Godfathers of Hardcore. The film provides an in-depth look into the past, present, and future of the influential New York hardcore band. Check out the trailer below.

The Godfathers of Hardcore premieres tomorrow, November 11th, at the DOC NYC Festival.



Benefit concert for Vio-Lence singer Sean Killian announced

Usually Dying Scene doesn’t cover thrash metal bands, but Sean Killian, the lead singer of the legendary Bay Area thrash metal band Vio-Lence, has been diagnosed with stage 4 cirrhosis of the liver.

Sean has been placed on a liver donor transplant list and is currently taking applications for a live liver donor. At this time the Bay Area metal community has come together to help one of their own. Fundraising has begun for Sean and his family.

A benefit for Sean, presented by The Sean Killian Charity Fund, “Killian on Command: An Evening of Vio-Lence” will take place on January 20th, 2018 at the Oakland Metro Opera House in Oakland, California, and will feature an all-star lineup of musicians performing Vio-Lence’s music. Scheduled to perform are members of Vio-Lence, Testament, Forbidden, Mordred, Death Angel, Exodus, Attitude Adjustment, and Fang, with more to be announced. King Arthur’s Bastard Son will serve as special guest of the show.

The Adicts Stream Video “Picture the Scene”

Legendary British punk band The Adicts are streaming their latest video for a tune called “Picture the Scene”. It will feature on a forthcoming record titled, And It Was So! which is due for release on November 17 via Nuclear Blast Records. The album will be the first the band release on the label, their previous effort being the 2012 effort All the Young Droogs on DC-Jam Records.

English punk legends The Adicts have announced that their eleventh album called And It Was So! The record is due out on November 17, 2017 via Nuclear Blast in U.S. and Arising Empire in the U.K.

Municipal Waste announce East Coast Dates

Virginia’s Municipal Waste have announced 3 East coast dates this December and are calling it “Waste Road Rager Vol 1”. They will be supported by Nails, Macabre and Shitfucker. Dates are as follows:

Comeback Kid release video for “Hell of a Scene” from new album “Outsider”

Hardcore household name Comeback Kid are allowing fans to stream their latest video “Hell of a Scene”. The track itself comes from a full-length entitled Outsider which was released via Nuclear Blast just days ago.

You can watch the video below, and pick up a copy of Outsider from all the usual outlets. Comeback Kid’s previous release was the 2014 effort, Die Knowing.



The Adicts sign to Nuclear Blast, to release new album

U.K. punk legends The Adicts have signed to Nuclear Blast in U.S. and Arising Empire in the U.K. The band will release their eleventh album through both labels this Autumn, with their first single, “Picture The Scene” digitally on September 1st.

The Adicts last released All the Young Droogs in 2012 through DC-Jam Records.

 



Comeback Kid release music video for “Surrender Control” off upcoming album “Outsider”

Canadian hardcore punks Comeback Kid have released a music video for the song “Surrender Control”. Give it a watch below.

Vocalist Andrew Neufeld had this to say about the song:

“Surrender Control is one of the first songs we wrote for this new album. Stu brought the original idea to the table and we messed around revising it for months leading up to the recording. We flew to Europe a day early before our last tour to shoot the video in Frankfurt, Germany with our friend Daniel Prieß. The song’s theme deals with the uphill battle some of us deal with while facing the perils of excess with anxiety.”

The track is from the band’s upcoming album “Outsider” which is due to be released on September 8th via New Damage Records and Nuclear Blast.

“Breathe Grease” is taken from the band’s recent album Slime and Punishment, which came out a month ago via Nuclear Blast.



Hardcore legend Roger Miret to release new memoir “My Riot: Agnostic Front, Grits, Guts & Glory”

New York City hardcore legend and frontman of Agnostic Front, Roger Miret is releasing a memoir. The memoir will document Miret’s life as frontman in one of the most influential hardcore bands of it’s time, as well as the trials and tribulations of growing up punk in 1980’s New York City. The book was co-written with Jon Wiederhorn, best known for his contributions to Rolling Stone as well as his book “Louder Than Hell: The Definitive Oral History of Metal”.

The book, set to be released August 29th via Lesser Gods, will feature forwards written by many of Miret’s peers in the punk world including Jerry Only. So many peers offered forwards that Lars Fredrickson of Rancid’s had to be left out. To hear what Lars had to say about Miret’s work click here.

Comeback Kid sign to Nuclear Blast, release new single “Absolute”

Canadian hardcore punks Comeback Kid have signed to Nuclear Blast with plans to release a new album. To celebrate the announcement, they’ve released a new single titled “Absolute”, which features guest vocals from Devin Townsend. Check out the track below.

Comeback Kid’s latest album Die Knowing was released in 2014 through Victory Records. We’ll keep you posted as details on the band’s next album come to light.
