California’s Audio Karate will release their third album, Malo, on October 18. To get you lot in the mood for the release, the band have been good enough to put out a few tracks over the last few weeks. Joining “Bounce” and “Sin Cuchillo” is the just-released “Landing”. It will be the final track on the eight-song album that was originally written in 2007 but has yet to fully see the light of day. Helping the band with the release of Malo will be Wiretap Records.

California punks Audio Karate are streaming the new track “Sin Chuchillo”. It happens to be the second offering off of the band’s long-awaited, much-anticipated, new release Malo. The new album will be the third release for the punk veterans, originally recorded back in 2007 but never released, the album will finally see the light of day thanks to Wiretap Records and a little help remixing from Mike Jimenez (Rufio), the album will finally be released October 18th.

California-based label Wiretap Records has announced that they will be hosting a show to celebrate their upcoming 4th anniversary. The 2-day event will be held at the Slidebar in Fullerton, CA on Sept 29th and 30th.  Bands performing will include Audio Karate, Odd Robot, Lost in Society, Get Married, Tiny Stills,  Wolves&Wolves&Wolves&Wolves, and more!

California punkers Audio Karate have announced the re-release of their debut album “Space Camp” on vinyl after a long period of inactivity.

The album was originally released by Kung Fu Records in 2002. The vinyl re-release will be a co-release by Wiretap Records and Hidden Home Records.

It features unreleased tracks by MCKC, Urban Outfielders, Watashi Wa Dance Party, Audio Karate, Filthy Hearts, and more, as well as known songs from the label’s collective discography. […]

In a time where record labels are slowly on the brink of extinction, there are still smaller, independent labels out there putting out great bands and working to ensure the survival of independent music. One such record label is Wiretap Records. Based out of Los Angeles, this label is releasing some of the best new music in the scene today. Bands like Harker, Wolves&Wolves&Wolves&Wolves, and This Obsession, among many others are keeping the spirit of independent music alive with the help of Wiretap Records.  The driving force behind this is owner Rob Castellon, whose “treat the bands like a family” mentality is something that is sorely lacking within the music community today.  We got a chance to talk with Rob about how he started the label, his inspirations, his own musical ability (or lack thereof), and the process he uses to run his business.

The first round of bands have been announced for Fest 17 and Pre-Fest 6 and for yet another year, Fest will not disappoint. The three day punk festival, now in its 17th year, takes place in over 20 venues in and around Gainesville, FL.

Lagwagon is set as a headliner and will perform “Let’s Talk About Feelings” in its entirety in honor of its 20th anniversary. Cursive, a band it took many years to get to perform at Fest, is set to perform at both Pre-Fest in Ybor and Fest. Other headliners include Piebald, Iron Chic, Dead To Me, Tim Barry, and RVIVR among many, many others.

As for breakups, Fest is set to be the final sendoff of Ontario, CAN natives Crusades. In existence since 2009, the band plans to party two last times in Gainesville, with two shows slotted in two smaller venues.

This years lineup also includes the reunion of California’s Audio Karate who are taking the stage for the first time since 2007.

The next wave of bands are set to be announced June 11.
