“‘Living in the Key of Hope’ is the last song on the new self-titled Wrong Life album, which is out today. I didn’t feel comfortable miming along to the words of the song, and getting someone else to do it has been done a million times already, so the next logical step seemed to be getting my oldest friend to dress up as a mime artist for the first time in his life and do all of the heavy lifting.
Massive thanks to Brian the Mime, Josh, Simon and The Banshee Labyrinth in Edinburgh for turning my poorly thought-out idea into something unexpectedly heartwarming and definitely a lot better than it would’ve been otherwise.”
Fraser has fronted a lot of great punk bands (The Murderburgers, FUCK! (It’s Pronounced SHIT!), etc.), and Wrong Life is no exception. You can find their new album on all major streaming platforms. Physical copies are available in the UK from Brassneck Records (vinyl) and Limited Fun Records (CD). Fraser Murderburger has released a new four-song EP from his latest project Absolute Melt. It’s a lot less poppy than most of the former Murderburgers frontman’s previous work, but it’s a nice change of pace nonetheless. Check it out below!
The physical release on a limited lathe cut 10″ is sold out (and raised over £600 for Scottish Women’s Aid!). You can still buy it digitally here.
Absolute Melt is one of a few projects Fraser is working on right now. His other band Wrong Life recently released an LP titled Early Workings of an Idea and I’ve heard they have another record coming soon.

Way back in 2014, a pop-punk supergroup named The Phase Problem was born. The band’s lineup included Flav Giorgini from Squirtgun and Fraser from the Murderburgers, among others. Nine years later, their self-titled debut album is finally going to see the light of day, thanks to Mom’s Basement Records, Brassneck Records, and Memorable But Not Honorable Tapes.
The LP, which was produced by Jamie Ward and mastered by Mass Giorgini, is set to release on March 31st. It will feature guest appearances from Squirtgun singer Matt Hart and prolific punk drummer Dan Lumley (The Queers, Screeching Weasel, etc.). SoCal punk veterans Jughead’s Revenge are back with their first new record in 20+ years. Vultures is due out May 5th on SBÄM Records. Check out the first single “I’ll Be Seeing You” below and pre-order the 12″ EP here (US) / here (EU).
The friendly people at Eccentric Pop Records launched pre-orders for two awesome records this week. The first is Dan Vapid and the Cheats‘ latest album Welcome to Dystopia. 300 copies on blue vinyl, 200 on black. Get yours here.

Operation Ivy singer Jesse Michaels’ band Classics of Love released an EP a few years ago, and Asian Man Records is releasing it on vinyl. The first pressing of World of Burning Hate was limited to 1,000 copies, and I say “was” because the shit sold out. If you missed out, fear not: the band has confirmed a second pressing is coming. Bad Religion‘s 30 Years Live is back in print on colored vinyl for the first time since 2016. 1,000 copies on “dragon fruit” colored vinyl, to be specific. Get it here.
I’m sure you’re already aware Samiam released a brand new album this week, but did you know the East Bay punk veterans’ debut LP is also getting a spiffy new reissue? This record’s been out of print for over a decade, but that changes now! Cleopatra Records has two new variants available on their webstore.
It wouldn’t be the Record Radar if we didn’t talk about an Epitaph reissue, would it? Motion City Soundtrack‘s I Am The Movie turns 20 this year, so naturally it’s getting reissued with like 20 new color variants. Links to all the places you can buy them are here.
Newbury Comics continues its reign as the most shameless retailer in the exclusive game with another set of $35 LPs (well, one of these is $32 but I’m not giving these fuckers a pass). They’ve got two new exclusives variants from Alkaline Trio: Is This Thing Cursed? on red w/ black splatter and their split with Hot Water Music on coke bottle clear. Get ’em here, suckers.
90’s pop-punk fans, pick up this new record from The Phase Problem! The band’s lineup includes members of Squirtgun and The Murderburgers. Greetings, fellow degenerates! Welcome to the latest installment of the Dying Scene Record Radar. If it’s your first time here, thank you for joining us! This is a weekly column where we cover all things punk rock vinyl; new releases, reissues… you name it, we’ve probably got it. There was a lot of cool shit announced this week and this is one of the biggest Record Radars yet! So kick off your shoes, pull up a chair, crack open a cold one, and break out those wallets, because it’s go time. Let’s get into it!
Let’s start with that new Bouncing Souls record, shall we? New Jersey’s favorite sons rolled out the red carpet for their new album Ten Stories High, releasing two killer singles and a gargantuan number of colored vinyl variants. Just look at all those fuckin’ things! Some of these sold out already; this page links to all the places you can get each variant.
I’ve been very vocal about my love of Dutch pop-punk band Giant Eagles ?. Their first two records are some of the best pop-punk albums of the last 10~ years as far as I’m concerned. Both of these LPs have been out of print for a hot second, but they’ve just been repressed! Get Giant Egos on red vinyl here and Second Landing on clear colored wax here. If you’re in Europe, Shield Recordings has you covered.
In our last Record Radar of 2022, we brought you the news that hardcore legends 7Seconds were reissuing their 1985 LP Walk Together, Rock Together. Trust Records has now officially announced the reissue as well as some more color variants. Get it on yellow w/ black splatter colored vinyl here. Or, if you’re not a variant nerd like me, just buy the LP from Amazon and save a few bucks. Can’t be free Prime shipping, baby! All hail Bezos.
Here’s another one from Trust Records. I came across this while looking at the new 7Seconds reissue on their website… not 100% sure if it’s new, but I couldn’t find anything about a pink/white pressing of the Circle Jerks‘ Group Sex on Discogs or anywhere else. So I’m gonna assume this is a new variant of the 40th Anniversary reissue Trust did a few years ago. Grab a copy here.
The Loved Ones frontman Dave Hause announced a new solo record earlier this week. It’s called Drive It Like It’s Stolen; check out the first single below. There are two color variants: the pretty one in the picture is limited to 500 copies, the other one is on plain jane blue wax (not sure how many of those are being pressed). Pre-order here.
Two new releases from Rad Girlfriend Records: First up is a brand new self-titled LP from Wrong Life! If you were a fan of frontman Fraser’s old band The Murderburgers, you will like this band (I know I do ?). Our friends at People of Punk Rock Records are always churning out killer reissues. Sometimes they put out shit from bands I haven’t even heard of! Quebec skate punks Xlarge are one of those bands, but I’m listening to these guys for the first time right now and they kick fuckin’ ass! If you like 90’s skate punk, I highly recommend checking out Xlarge. POPR is releasing the band’s two records on vinyl for the very first time, and you can get them here.
Here’s something that was literally announced as I was writing the Record Radar: It’s a brand new live record from Useless ID! The 28-song album titled Live In Tel Aviv was recorded at The Barby in Tel Aviv, Israel on August 20th, 2019. There are three variants of this Double LP, limited to 100 copies each. Pre-order here.
Last but not least (somebody’s always gotta be last, right?) is a brand new release from our friends at Punk Rock Radar! They’ve teamed up with Cat’s Claw and White Russian Records to co-release Dutch skate punk band Toska Fall‘s new record A Little Advice on red colored vinyl. Green Day‘s debut LP 39/Smooth gets its first new pressing since 2015 and Oakland’s own 1-2-3-4 Go! Records is the only place to get it. They’ve got an exclusive hand-numbered silver colored LP with the bonus 7″s on colored wax as well. Not sure how many copies were pressed, but they’re apparently almost sold out. Get it here now or pay more on Discogs later.
1-2-3-4 Go! also has an exclusive new variant of Alkaline Trio‘s self-titled compilation LP. As always, these are hand-numbered, but like the Green Day record I have no clue how many copies were pressed on this red/grey split colored wax. Get it here.
Like most other weeks, a new Bad Religion repress was announced this week (a few weeks ago actually, but nevermind that). This time It’s Recipe for Hate, which turns 30 this year. As always, there’s no shortage of color variants. Links to where you can get all of them are here.
Just shy of its 20th birthday Tiger Army’s III: Ghost Tigers Rise has gotten its first repressing since 2004. The yellow w/ gold splatter LP is limited to 300 copies and is a Zia Records exclusive. Get it here.
One of my favorite Floridian ska bands, Osceola County’s own Supervillains, have announced a vinyl reissue of their 2008 album Massive. These guys have been around over 25 years, but this will be their first-ever vinyl release. Get it here.
Speaking of Floridian ska bands… if you’ve got $50 burning a hole in your pocket (yes, that’s just about how much this will run ya after shipping), Less Than Jake‘s Greetings and Salutations has been repressed on 500 copies of “Greenyl”. Apparently it’s a “100% eco-friendly, PVC-free vinyl” material. Get it here.
The Swingin’ Utters‘ Five Lessons Learned is the latest record in Fat Wreck Chords‘ back catalog to receive the 25th Anniversary treatment. Get your copy here (US) or here (EU).
On vinyl for the first time ever, it’s The Hippos’ 1999 LP Heads Are Gonna Roll! This cult classic third wave ska record was previously only released on CD, but that changes now thanks to Asbestos Records. Limited to 1,000 copies across two color variants; get yours here.
Music on Vinyl has been dropping a lot of punk (and punk adjacent) reissues lately. The latest round includes Unwritten Law‘s Here’s to the Mourning (on vinyl for the first time ever!), limited to 1,000 copies on translucent green 180g wax. This isn’t exclusive to any retailer, so you can probably find it in your local record store. Here‘s one place I found to get it online.
And another reissue / first-time vinyl release coming from Music on Vinyl is Authority Zero‘s sophomore album Andiamo. 1,000 copies on gold wax, same deal as the UL record. Here‘s one place I found selling it online.
Chris Cresswell has announced a new solo album! The Stubbornness of the Young is the Flatliners‘ frontman’s second solo effort, following 2014’s One Week Record. Check out the lead single “Behind the Crow” below and pre-order the LP here (NA), here (EU), or here (UK).

British punks Grade 2 have a new self-titled album on the way. The record produced by Rancid‘s Tim Amstrong is due out in February 2023 on Hellcat Records. Check out their new single “Under the Streetlight” below, and go here for links to where all the different color variants of the LP can be purchased.
If you read our latest Ten Underrated Punk Bands That Should Be On Your Radar column, you know who SACK is. If you didn’t read it (fuck you, why didn’t you read it? I worked really hard on that!) SACK is fronted by Kody Templeman (Teenage Bottlerocket, Lillingtons, etc.). Their new record Ripper! was released on CD earlier this year, and is now finally available on vinyl thanks to the friendly people at Red Scare. Pre-order this beast here.
Also from Red Scare (in case you missed our story about it earlier this week): A first-time vinyl release of Sludgeworth‘s Losers of the Year. For those who aren’t in the know, this was a short lived project of Screeching Weasel‘s Dan Vapid that also featured his SW bandmate Brian Vermin on drums. This album was originally released on CD in 1995 through Lookout! Records, and old school pop-punk aficionados have been clamoring for a vinyl reissue for a long time. The wait is over! Head over to Red Scare’s webstore to grab your copy.
Punk supergroup Fake Names (ft. members of Bad Religion, Refused, Fugazi, etc.) have announced their new album Expendables will be released on March 3rd, 2023 through Epitaph Records. Today marks the release of Celtic punk veterans The Real McKenzies new covers album Songs of the Highlands, Songs of the Sea. Fat Wreck Chords is sold out of colored vinyl, but you can still get it on black wax from their webstore. For those outside of the states, the record is available here (CA), here (EU), and here (AUS).
And because you can never have enough Fat Wreck Chords in your life, here’s another new release from Fat! NOFX frontman Fat Mike has teamed up with Get Dead‘s Sam King on a new project called Codefendants. A few Record Radars ago, we let you that the Transplants‘ self-titled debut album was getting a 20th Anniversary reissue. Well, those sold out really fucking quick so Hellcat Records has announced some additional, retailer-exclusive color variants. 1-2-3-4! Go Records and Smartpunk each have their own unique variants here in the US, and Banquet Records has an EU exclusive “cool blue” color variant.
Pirates Press Records is reissuing all seven Cock Sparrer LPs in honor of the band’s 50th Anniversary. You can get them individually for 20 bucks each, or as a set for $125 (that’s a savings of 15 dollars, folks!). No pretty colors here, just good ol’ black wax.
Just in time for the holiday season, Chris Farren‘s Like a Gift from God or Whatever is back in print on neon green colored vinyl. Head over to Asian Man Records‘ webstore and get a piece of this yuletide wax ?
Fraser from the Murderburgers is a busy guy! In addition to his current band Wrong Life (featured in Dying Scene’s Ten Underrated Punk Bands You Need To Check Out Right Now column) he has now announced another project called Absolute Melt. Check out the single “2am (The Face Changes Shape)” below, and go here to pre-order their upcoming 10″ EP. All profits from physical and digital sales will go to Scottish Women’s Aid, who help women, children and young people in Scotland affected by domestic abuse.

Everyone’s favorite indie record store Walmart is having a sale of their own. All vinyl records are $15 in-store at all Walmart locations (exclusives are discounted on their website as well). I’ve seen plenty of pearl-clutching going on about this sale, but I don’t give a fuck ? There are some good deals to be had here. I got The Clash‘s 3xLP Combat Rock + The People’s Hall for $15. There were a ton of WM’s new exclusive pressings of Green Day‘s American Idiot and International Superhits at my local store as well. There’s an ample supply of soundtracks and Luke Combs records, too, if you’re into that kinda thing. Sale ends Sunday, November 20th.
And of course, Wally World’s red competitor Tarshay has a sale, too. Starting Sunday, November 20th, all records (and movies, CDs, misc. other media) will be Buy 2, Get 1 Free. Is that cheaper than Walmart? I don’t know, I’m too lazy to do that math (probably not though). This sale will be online and in store, and there’s no limit on how many records you can buy. So if you really want all 375 copies of the new Adele album your local Target has in stock, load up that god damn cart!
Last but not least, we have Record Store Day Black Friday. Again, not much in the way of deals here, but there are some exclusive releases that may interest you. In addition to the 10th Anniversary reissue of Masked Intruder‘s debut LP we highlighted last week, you may also be interested in Goldfinger‘s Hello Destiny (reissued in honor of its 15th Anniversary), and a new Joe Strummer live acoustic album Live at Music Millennium. The only place you can (potentially) get these and all the other RSBF releases is your local record store on Black Friday (November 25th).
