Along those lines, you may not be into Days one and three either (The Weeknd, Chance The Rapper, The Airborne Toxic Event, Bassnectar, Ben Harper and more). Anyway, check out the full lineup here.

Juice (Seattle ska-punk) call it quits; members form new band The Waywards

Seattle ska-punks Juice have decided to call it a day, but don’t fret because all of the members have formed a new band with a different sound called The Waywards (kinda confusing, huh?). Seattle ska-punks Juice have decided to call it a day, but don’t fret because all of the members have formed a new band with a different sound called The Waywards (kinda confusing, huh?). Here’s a statement from the band:

“First and foremost we need to thank everyone that has shown us love and support over the years, there are too many of you wonderful people to thank by name. Just know I hold a special place in my heart for all of you, especially those who have been there from the start, or had our back when it seemed no one else did. You guys mean the world to us.

When we started Juice we were a couple of pre-pubescent boys with shitty instruments and a loose grasp on music. Everything was a joke and it was all for fun, I will always remember those days as some of the best of my life. Over that past few months it has become apparent to everyone in the band that musically we are quickly becoming ghosts of our former selves. We are making leaps and bounds, and working harder than we ever have before. With all this hard work has become a sense of seriousness that had never been there before. To make a long story short (although people have different definitions of short) we have decided we can no longer carry on as Juice. Dont get us wrong, were still having an amazing time, and by no means are we all business suits and briefcases. If you have ever talked to us you would know we are probably some of the least serious people you have ever met.

We will now be known as The Waywards, please like our band page and share the message. Thank you guys so much, and sorry about the essay.”

Juice’s final release, an EP entitled “Things We Say,” was released on December 25th, 2012. Apparently, they’re working on some new music for The Waywards right now, which we’ll keep you posted on.

“Punk Rock is Bullsh*t” declares Seattle Weekly writer

In this week’s issue of Seattle Weekly, writer John Roderick (also of Seattle indie group The Long Winters) wrote a long piece admonishing punk rockers for “poisoning our culture.” He finishes the article by saying, “Shut it down.
