It’s been a long time coming, but Washington DC-based melodic punks American Television are juuuuust about to release a new album called Scars, and Dying Scene are fired up to bring you the latest video from that very release!

Today’s DS Exclusive is the video for the brand-new track, “Bittersweet.” The clip was shot and edited by Mike Watkins of Matched Set Productions, and while we presume that it was filmed in and around the DC suburbs, it really could have taken place in any office park anywhere (including the one I used to work in!).

Here’s what the crew had to say about the track and the accompanying video:

“Bittersweet” is a song about the one-sided relationship that is working for a corporation. You give and give and give, and then are just chewed up and spit out. But of course you always show back up on Monday morning. When we were brainstorming video concepts for this song, we wanted to avoid having the band be central to the storyline. It was incredible that almost everyone we know with skills and talents that go well beyond our abilities wanted to be part of this shoot. Everyone gave 100% and because of that, we were able to create a great narrative inspired by 90s music video nostalgia. It’s exactly what we had hoped for.”

Scars is the follow-up to American Television’s 2020 debut full-length, Watch It Burn. It’s out September 22nd on SmartPunk Records. Pre-orders are still available. Check out the video for “Bittersweet” below!

DS Record Radar: This Week in Punk Vinyl (ALL “Problematic” reissue, Pulley, Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards & more)

Greetings, and welcome to the Dying Scene Record Radar. If it’s your first time here, thank you for joining us! This is the weekly* column where we cover all things punk rock vinyl; new releases, reissues… you name it, we’ve probably got it. Kick off your shoes, pull up a chair, crack open a cold one, and break out those wallets, because it’s go time. Let’s get into it!

All? NO! ALL! ALL’s latest album, 2000’s Problematic, is back in print! Four snazzy new color variants: yellow w/ red splatter (1,000 copies, buy here), blue w/ yellow splatter (300 copies, buy here), red in neon yellow (300 copies, buy here), and neon yellow (? copies, EU indie variant). If you don’t care about color variants, you can get this on black wax for $10(!!!) on Amazon right now. Yes, you’re reading that right, 10 bucks for an LP in 2023!

Here’s a weird one… AFI’s Crash Love hasn’t gotten an official repress since its original release in 2009 (I can already hear you crying “b-b-but AFI isn’t punk!!!!!” – save your breath, nobody fucking cares). Recently, a bunch of e-tailers launched pre-orders for a new pressing. Some bill it as an official release, others say it’s an Import, which is basically a nicer way to say “this shit’s counterfeit”. There were a lot of places to buy this last week, but not it seems Loud Pizza (US) and Le Noise (Canada) are the only stores with it still listed.

The Suicide Machines 2xLP rarities compilation On The Eve Of Destruction 1991-1995 is getting a new pressing from Asbestos Records. There are 500 copies spread across two color variants: blue/black split and red/black split. Get it here. There’s a few copies of the last pressing still available here as well.

Two cool new represses from Pirates Press Records this week. Up first is Lars Frederiksen and the Bastards’ 2004 LP Viking. 500 copies on black and blood red striped colored vinyl. Get it here.

Also from Pirates Press: A sweet new color variant for The Slackers’ Wasted Days! 1,000 copies on beautiful neon green w/ black splatter colored wax. Get it here.

Alright, let’s take a lil break from all the represses and reissues, and talk about some new records! Have you heard about Snuff’s new album Come On If You Think You’re Rachmaininoff? No? Well, it’s an acoustic album, and it’s due out June 9th on SBÄM Records. Check out the new acoustic version of “One of those Days” below, and pre-order the LP on one of two very colorful splatter variants here (EU) / here (AUS).

Here’s a new release that seemingly came out of nowhere. Step aside “The Decline”, Italian melodic punks LineOut’s new album Andromeda is one continuous 52-minute long song, and it’s fucking bad ass. Check that shit out below and grab the record here. These guys are killer – highly recommended listening!

Mama mia! It’s another new release from an awesome Italian punk band! All Coasted’s new EP Never Ending Puppet Show releases June 9th (that’s next Friday!) on Striped Records. Check out the latest single & pre-order the record here.

And while you’re on Striped Records’ webstore pre-ordering that All Coasted record, grab this new pressing of The Manges & The Queers Acid Beaters split LP. Limited to 500 copies on red wax, just in time for its 20th anniversary. Get it here.

In case you haven’t already heard, Rancid has a new album out; it’s called Tomorrow Never Comes. Anywho, Epitaph’s ever-creative marketing department has found a way to offload some black wax onto you sick variant addicts. How? By screen printing a bunch of jackets with an alternate cover to house 2,000 black vinyl copies. And somehow these are worth 12 bucks more than a standard black copy! I don’t play this game, but maybe you do. Fork over your cash here, suckers.

We’ll get back to some more new releases in a bit, here’s some more new pressings of old shit. Dischord Records has repressed Fugazi’s Red Medicine on an undisclosed number of pieces of red vinyl. Get it here.

Dischord has also repressed Minor Threat’s Out of Step on an undisclosed number of white colored LPs. Very cool! Get it here.

DustyWax Records gave Pulley‘s Matters and Together Again for the First Time their first-ever vinyl releases in 2020 (that dreaded year seems like an eternity ago, doesn’t it?). Those sold out pretty fast, so they’ve issued a second pressing. There are three color variants for both LPs, each limited to 100 copies. The DustyWax webstore has its own exclusive variants, as well as Thousand Islands Records and Bearded Punk Records‘ respective online stores.

Australian punk veterans Bodjyar‘s 1998 album No Touch Red is getting a 25th Anniversary reissue, with 150 copies on translucent red vinyl and another 150 copies on “ultra clear” colored vinyl. Get ’em here.

Back in print for the first time in 17 years, Avail’s 4AM Friday is getting reissued as a Double LP with the second LP featuring a 15-song live set recorded at San Fransisco’s Bottom of the Hill in 1997. The orange w/ black splatter variant is limited to 488 copies and is available here. You can also get it on black vinyl here.

Pennywise’s From the Ashes turns 20 this year, and it’s getting reissued for the first time ever! There are 500 copies on “spring green w/ tangerine splatter” colored wax (Epitaph US store), as well as 300 copies on clear w/ black and orange splatter (Epitaph EU store), and you know our buddies at Newbury Comics had to get in on the action with their own $34 variant. Also available on black vinyl on Amazon for the more frugal minded (shoutout to my dawg Jeffy B).

Let’s wrap things up with some new releases, shall we? TV Cult is a relatively new band from Cologne, Germany that plays “80s Infused Brutal Post-Punk” (their words, not mine). Their debut album Colony is due out November 24th on Flight 13 Records. Check out the lead single “Party’s Over” below and pre-order the LP on “transparent petrol” colored vinyl here.

And last but not least, we have a new band with some familiar faces. Lektron is fronted by Alkaline Trio‘s Matt Skiba, who is joined by drummer Atom Willard (Rocket from the Crypt, Against Me!, Angels & Airwaves, etc.) and AFI’s Hunter Burgan. Their debut 2-song 12″ is out now on Asian Man Records, and it’s already sold out. Listen below and lookout for a full-length album at some point.

DS Record Radar: This Week in Punk Vinyl (Epitaph Overload! Bad Religion, NOFX, Osker, Pridebowl, Spring Heeled Jack & more)

Epitaph Records is stealing the show this week, unleashing snazzy new color variants for like a dozen different records: Bad Religion being the primary beneficiary. Up first is this eye popping EU exclusive multicolor splatter pressing of No Control (limited to 500 copies). As I’m writing this, I’ve realized it’s already sold out… but just look at that shit, it’s beautiful! There’s a new yellow EU Indie variant as well; here’s one of the places you can get that.

Next up in this week’s BR represses is Against the Grain. This is another EU-only pressing, with 500 copies on clear w/ yellow and purple splatter colored vinyl available on Epitaph’s European merch store. There’s also a EU Indie variant for this one, on orange / black marble colored wax – get that here.

And finally we have All Ages, which has also been repressed on two new color variants. Europe gets 500 copies on “bone w/ red & black splatter” colored wax (get it here), while ‘Merica gets 1,000 copies on “buttercream” colored vinyl (get that one here).

More Epitaph stuff! I promise we’ll get to some other labels’ releases at some point on this week’s column. Two NOFX records with European exclusive pressings, the first of which is S&M Airlines. 500 copies of this one on “orange smoke” colored vinyl – get it here.

The other NOFX record getting a new color variant is (the very underrated in my opinion) Pump Up the Valuum. And, once again, this black & white split colored LP is limited to 500 copies, and is only available on Epitaph’s Kings Road EU store.

Alright, it’s almost over! Our last Epitaph release this week is Osker’s Idle Will Kill, back in print for the first time in a long time. There are three color variants – pink w/ black splatter (buy here), Smartpunk Exclusive(!) “hot pink & black smash” (buy here), and Banquet Records exclusive neon pink / black (buy here). And if you wanna save a few bucks, grab the plain ‘ol black LP on Amazon.

Let’s talk about some other things now, shall we? One of my favorite albums of 2023 is NOT’s Stop the World. If you missed out on the sold out first pressing of this record on purple vinyl, good news! It’s getting a second pressing on “ocean blue” colored vinyl (limited to 300 copies). Don’t sleep on this one, get it here (US), here (UK), or here (Japan). Must-have record for Descendents / ALL fans, and enjoyers of great pop-punk in general.

Six years after its initial release, third wave ska-punk veterans Spring Heeled Jack‘s latest album Sound Salvation gets its first-ever vinyl pressing. Asbestos Records doesn’t specify a color variant, but if Discogs is to be believed, this is limited to 500 copies on translucent record colored wax. Get it here. And on a related note, Spring Heeled Jack just released a new single! It’s great a cover of fellow New England ska vets Bim Skala Bim’s “Diggin’ a Hole”. Check it out:

Pridebowl‘s 1997 Where You Put Your Trust LP is back in print for the first time in 25 years! Spain’s La Agonía de Vivir is reissuing the record, with 100 copies on cyan blue colored vinyl and 200 copies on black wax. Our European readers can get both variants here / inhabitants of North America can save some money and get the black wax here.

Captain, We’re Sinking‘s debut album The Future Is Cancelled turns 10 this year so, naturally, a commemorative reissue is in order. 500 copies available on red / blue / yellow tri-color vinyl here. Two bonus tracks! The band will also be playing some full-album shows to celebrate the anniversary.

Look, it’s something other than a reissue! Ska legends Fishbone have announced their new self-titled EP, due out May 26th on Fat Wreck imprint Bottles To The Ground. It was produced by Fat Mike and features most of the band’s original lineup. Pre-order the 12″ EP here.

And last but not least, we have From Down to Dawn, the latest EP from Italy’s Minus Hero, due out June 2nd on Punk Rock Radar, White Russian, and Cat’s Claw Records. Check out the first single “Rosa” below, and get the record here (US), here (EU), here (UK), or here (Italy!).

DS Record Radar: This Week in Punk Vinyl (Less Than Jake “Hello Rockview” 25th Anniversary, Hickey, McRackins & More)

Greetings, and welcome to the Dying Scene Record Radar. If it’s your first time here, thank you for joining us! This is the weekly* column where we cover all things punk rock vinyl; new releases, reissues… you name it, we’ve probably got it. This week’s column is our biggest yet, as we’re highlighting a grand total of 20 newly announced records! So kick off your shoes, pull up a chair, crack open a cold one, and break out those wallets, because it’s go time. Let’s get into it!

If you’re catching a show on Less Than Jake‘s 25th Anniversary Hello Rockview tour, be sure to hit the merch table for this brand new 2xLP reissue of the record. The second LP features demos (including a previously unreleased song called “Honest Answers”), live tracks, and what I think are newly re-recorded takes on “All My Best Friends Are Metalheads” and “History of a Boring Town”.

No word from the band (or Smartpunk Records) on whether this is a tour exclusive variant, or how limited it is. I think it’s a safe bet this 25th Anniversary reissue will get wider distribution at some point, and will keep you posted as more details are announced. For now, the only way to grab a copy is at one of Less Than Jake’s upcoming shows.

There are a couple classic splits with new represses on the way, with the first being Ten Foot Pole‘s 1995 split 10″ with the almighty Satanic Surfers. Due out this September on La Agonía de Vivir, it’s limited to 200 copies on transparent red vinyl / 300 black vinyl. Pre-order here.

The other split getting a much needed repress is The Ataris / Useless ID Let It Burn. The LP has been repressed on split blue/red colored vinyl; they don’t specify how many copies, it’s just “limited”. This one’s due out next month; get it here.

Here’s a repress of a more recently-released record. The Flatliners‘ Inviting Light is back in print on two new color variants; the “black inside yellow” variant pictured is limited to 200 copies, while the coral colored wax (not pictured) is limited to 300 copies. You can get both here.

Let’s take a little detour from all the reissues / represses and highlight some of this week’s new releases, shall we? Up first are pop-punk mainstays the McRackins with their fantastic new album Wake the Fun Up!, out now on Mom’s Basement Records! I’m going to give this record 2023’s Most Unique Color Variants Award™ as well. 100 copies on each of the following variants: Watermelon Gushers, Dunkaroos Frosting, Orange Melted Creamsicle & Spitting Blood Gladiator. Get your copy here.

Also available from our friends at Mom’s Basement Records: two new live records from the Huntingtons and the Proton Packs! Both were recorded at Italy’s favorite Ramonescore festival Punk Rock Raduno, and both can be purchased on Mom’s Basement’s webstore. Our European friends can grab these from Punk Rock Raduno’s Bandcamp.

Here’s another new release! It’s a new* three-song* 10″ from everyone’s favorite hip-hop/punk band Codefendants! For $18 you get a song that was already released on the band’s LP, as well as an acoustic version of that song, and one new track called “Cinematic”. You simply cannot beat that value, folks! Fork over your money here.

Alright, back to some more reissues! The Bouncing Souls‘ How I Spent My Summer Vacation is getting repressed on “red with white swirl” colored vinyl, limited to 500 copies. My fellow true believers can get it here.

Dead Broke Rekerds has given Hickey’s highly sought after self-titled LP its first reissue since 1995. They pressed 222 copies on red vinyl, which have already sold out, and 800 copies on black wax (still in stock!). Get yours here. Chocolate pudding filled trumpet not included.

Joyce Manor‘s 2011 self-titled debut LP gets its 14th(!) pressing, with 1,000 copies on pink colored wax. Long live Mike Park and Asian Man Records! Buy it here.

Dutch skate punks Drunktank will be crossing the Atlantic to play some shows in Canada this September. To commemorate the voyage, Thousand Islands Records is repressing the band’s most recent album Return of the Infamous Four with Canadian themed artwork and color variants. Pre-order here.

The Beatnik Termites‘ long out of print sophomore LP Bubblecore gets its first reissue since 1996. 500 copies on pink colored vinyl, get it here.

Late last year, Westbound Train surprised everyone when their first new record in over a decade popped up on Spotify. Now Dedication is getting a physical release! Get it on transparent blue marble colored vinyl here.

Jeff Rosenstock‘s new album Hellmode is due out September 1st. Check out the lead single “Doubt” below. There are a trillion color variants; links to where you can get all of them can be found here.

Ramonescore up-and-comers the Zoanoids and Bad Secret have combined forces for a new Split 7″, out now on Hey Pizza! Records. Available on three color variants here.

Boston’s Rebuilder have announced their new album Local Support will be released on August 11th. Check out the new single “Another Round” below and pre-order the record here. Shoutout to Dying Scene contributing photographer Brittany, who took the picture featured on the album’s cover!

Chicago’s Sincere Engineer will be releasing their new album Cheap Grills on September 22nd through Hopeless Records. Check out the new single “California King” below and pre-order the LP on “steak + sauce” colored wax here.

Last but not least we’ve got some new releases from Rad Girlfriend Records! Tokyo’s What Goes Up gets a running start on their debut LP Laws of Gravity. I’ve always gotta give love to Floridian ska bands, so we’ll start this week’s Record Radar with a shoutout to Chilled Monkey Brains. Back to the Mud is their first new record in a long time – check out the lead single below and pre-order the LP and/or CD here.

Speaking of bands who haven’t released a new album in a while, Paint it Black surprised everyone this week with the announcement of a new 8-song EP called Famine. It’s due out November 3rd on Revelation Records. Check out the lead single below and get the record here.

Last week we premiered a new single from American Television, who has a new album called Scars due out September 22nd on Smartpunk Records. They’ve got some sweet color variants up for pre-order on their webstore; each is limited to 200 copies. The band will have a tour variant (ltd to 100 copies) available at their upcoming shows as well.

Some random Fat Wreck releases are getting EU exclusive color variants from Final Vinyl. Up first is Lagwagon’s latest album Railer, with a new red variant limited to 500 copies. You can get it here.

And the other record is Rise Against’s debut album The Unraveling, with a new yellow color variant also limited to 500 copies. Grab it here. Looks like both of these should start shipping on September 30th.

‘68 has a new album coming out later this month on Pure Noise Records. Yes, and… is the 3rd LP from the two piece band fronted by Josh Scogin (ex-The Chariot, Norma Jean, etc.). The Fest is right around the corner and Sell The Heart Records & Iodine Recordings are releasing an awesome compilation LP to celebrate. Here’s a new pressing of an old album. Early 2000’s pop-punk band Over It’s Timing is Everything is getting its first ever vinyl release in honor of its 20th birthday. There are three variants – split yellow/red (300 copies), solid red (300 copies), and black (400 copies). Get yours here.

Nebraska pop-punk veterans The Young Hasselhoffs have a new record coming out next month on Mom’s Basement Records. Check out the latest single below and pre-order Dear Departed here. They’ve got a bunch of sweet color variants and bundles on offer.

Asian Man Records announced two new releases this week, with the first being from The Atom Age! Their new self-titled LP is due out September 29th, but pre-orders are shipping now. Check out the single “New Season” below and grab the record here.

Asian Man’s other new release is from a band called Bat Boy ft. members of Spraynard and Sundials. Check out the single “Decoder Ring” and head over to the Asian Man webstore to get your copy of Fun Machine.

Millencolin released an LP combining their first two demos last year and it quickly sold out. Now it’s back in print with two new color variants, limited to 300 copies each. Head over to the band’s webstore to get Goofy & Melack on green and/or pink vinyl.

And last but not least, a record I’ve been anticipating for nine months now – the debut album from one man melodic punk band Dead Alright! The project from Louis-Charles Berthiaume of Brand New Lungs has been drip feeding single after single all year, leading up to this announcement of a full-length album due out October 6th on Thousand Islands Records. DS Record Radar: This Week in Punk Vinyl (Rancid debut LP 30th Anniversary, Face To Face, Adrenalized & More)

Pure Noise Records has announced Volume 2 in its Dead Formats series, featuring cover songs from 15 bands on the label’s roster. Notable tracks include Less Than Jake covering The Kinks and the Bouncing Souls’ take on “In the Dark” by Billy Squier. There are a handful of different color variants up for pre-order on the Pure Noise webstore.

Rancid’s legendary self-titled debut album is getting reissued in honor of its 30th Anniversary. Links to where you can get all four color variants can be found here. My favorite is the US Indie Exclusive white w/ black splatter – hit up your local record store for that one.

The Riverboat Gamblers’ Something to Crow About turns 20 this year and it, too, is getting a reissue. There are three variants, each limited to 500 copies. Get it on black and/or white wax here; the slate gray color variant is a Garage Land exclusive. This is the LP’s first repress since its original release in 2003.

A mysterious reissue of Face To Face’s Don’t Turn Away has popped up on Amazon and some other ecommerce sites with an October 13th release date. No specific color variant is noted, but there’s quite a bit of speculation this will be on pink colored vinyl. Why not roll the dice and find out?

New Found Glory’s From the Screen to Your Stereo 3 has been repressed on gold colored vinyl, not sure how many copies. Get the 10” here.

Our friends at Thousand Islands Records have brought Spanish melodic punks Adrenalized’s sophomore album Docet Umbra back in print for the first time in 8 years. There are three variants – teal, pink & gold – each limited to 100 copies. Get your copy here.

Finch‘s debut album What It Is to Burn is getting a special 20th Anniversary reissue from Take This To Heart Records. The first pressing has already sold out, but they’ve already launched pre-orders for a second pressing of 2,000 copies on “Color in Color (Ruby + Black) w/ Tangerine Splatter” colored vinyl. DS Record Radar: This Week in Punk Vinyl (Teenage Bottlerocket, NOFX, Subhumans, Poison Idea & many more)

Greetings, and welcome to the Dying Scene Record Radar. If it’s your first time here, thank you for joining us! This is a weekly column where we cover all things punk rock vinyl; new releases, reissues… you name it, we’ve probably got it. There was a lot of cool shit announced this week so it’s gonna be a long one. Kick off your shoes, pull up a chair, crack open a cold one, and break out those wallets, because it’s go time. Let’s get into it!

Fat Wreck Chords starts us off strong this week with a new pressing of Teenage Bottlerocket‘s They Came From The Shadows, available on colored vinyl for the first time since its initial release in 2009. This is a great record and the new color variant looks pretty sweet, too. Head over to Fat’s webstore and get it before its gone.

Is it really a Record Radar if NOFX isn’t involved? These motherfuckers really like making the collector nerds sweat. It seems like Punk In Drublic is getting a new color variant every week. This red one w/ white splatter is cool. You can get it here. May God have mercy on the souls of any NOFX variant collectors.

Ribbed also got a new color variant this week. It’s purple with like some blue hazy shit going on. Both of these are Kings Road Merch exclusives, limited to 2,000 copies by the way. Here‘s the product page for Ribbed. Look out for some (non-NOFX) Epitaph represses of some out of print records coming soon ?

The friendly people at Asian Man Records are up next. They’ve got two new LPs up for pre-order, and it sounds like Mike Park went through hell getting these pressed (something about a 14 month delay!). If you like ska, I recommend picking up The Abruptors’ new record Noticably Cheerless. Their first album was good and what I’ve heard from this one sounds excellent as well. 600 copies on smoky clear colored wax ripe for the picking here.

Asian Man’s other new release comes from Teens In Trouble. Their self-titled debut EP has a cool Weezer-ish indie rock kinda vibe. Check it out below and pre-order the pink colored 12″ EP here.

Pirates Press Records surprised everyone this week with a Subhumans box set cataloging the entirety of their 80’s output. The bad news is the box set sold out really fuckin’ quick. The good news is the individual records are still available and the prices are very reasonable (which is usually the case with Pirates Press). Get ’em here.

1-2-3-4 Go! Records‘ latest exclusive comes from hardcore punk legends Poison Idea. This color variant (clear w/ red splatter I guess?) of 1983’s Pick Your King EP is limited to 500 copies. 1-2-3-4 Go!’s webstore is the only place you’re gonna find it.

Another one to file under “Old punk rock pressed into new plastic” comes to us from Southern California’s Outahand. This is their debut album that was supposed to be released in 1996, but until now hadn’t seen the light of day. Thanks to our friends at Burnt Wolf Records, you can now own this obscure slice of 90’s punk. Check out a few tracks below and grab the neon green colored LP (ltd. 100 copies) here.

Thrice‘s The Artist In The Ambulance is getting a 20th anniversary reissue. They re-recorded the entire album and naturally there’s a shitload of retailer exclusive color variants. Here‘s a neat little page where you can find links to all the places you can buy them. They’ll also be touring extensively in honor of the album’s anniversary.

Bad Brains‘ Rock for Light is another record that’s been perpetually repressed on new color variants the last few years. Brooklyn Vegan has a new yellow w/ red splatter pressing up for pre-order. It’s limited to 800 copies and you can get it here. Make sure you use their discount code thingy to save 10% off your order.

Quicksand‘s Slip is getting a 30th anniversary reissue. There are a bunch of variants of this one as well, but most of them have already sold out. Revolver still has their Red w/ Black And Yellow Marble variant in stock. The same goes for Smartpunk and their Half Red/Half Yellow variant. Have at it!

If you’re looking for a new post-punk band, look no further than London’s Dealing With Damage. They just released their sophomore LP Use the Daylight on Rad Girlfriend and Little Rocket Records. Check it out below and grab the yellow colored wax here (US) or here (UK).

It’s not everyday you find a bad ass new band to check out thanks to an Instagram ad, but that’s exactly how I came across Brooklyn’s Fat Heaven. These guys (and girl) know how to write some real fuckin’ catchy pop-punk tunes. Check out the music video for one of ’em below and pre-order their new record Trash Life here.

Greetings, fellow degenerates! Welcome to the latest installment of the Dying Scene Record Radar. If it’s your first time here, thank you for joining us! This is a weekly column where we cover all things punk rock vinyl. In addition to new releases and reissues, this week we’ll also be highlighting some Black Friday sales on vinyl records that may interest you. So kick off your shoes, pull up a chair, crack open a cold one, and break out those wallets, because it’s go time. Let’s get into it!

British punks Grade 2 have a new self-titled album on the way. The record produced by Rancid‘s Tim Amstrong is due out in February 2023 on Hellcat Records. Check out their new single “Under the Streetlight” below, and go here for links to where all the different color variants of the LP can be purchased.

If you read our latest Ten Underrated Punk Bands That Should Be On Your Radar column, you know who SACK is. If you didn’t read it (fuck you, why didn’t you read it? I worked really hard on that!) SACK is fronted by Kody Templeman (Teenage Bottlerocket, Lillingtons, etc.). Their new record Ripper! was released on CD earlier this year, and is now finally available on vinyl thanks to the friendly people at Red Scare. Pre-order this beast here.

Also from Red Scare (in case you missed our story about it earlier this week): A first-time vinyl release of Sludgeworth‘s Losers of the Year. For those who aren’t in the know, this was a short lived project of Screeching Weasel‘s Dan Vapid that also featured his SW bandmate Brian Vermin on drums. This album was originally released on CD in 1995 through Lookout! Records, and old school pop-punk aficionados have been clamoring for a vinyl reissue for a long time. The wait is over! Head over to Red Scare’s webstore to grab your copy.

Punk supergroup Fake Names (ft. members of Bad Religion, Refused, Fugazi, etc.) have announced their new album Expendables will be released on March 3rd, 2023 through Epitaph Records. Check out the first single “Delete Myself” below, and pre-order the record here (yellow vinyl, US) or here (“black & white galaxy” vinyl, EU).

Today marks the release of Celtic punk veterans The Real McKenzies new covers album Songs of the Highlands, Songs of the Sea. Fat Wreck Chords is sold out of colored vinyl, but you can still get it on black wax from their webstore. For those outside of the states, the record is available here (CA), here (EU), and here (AUS).

And because you can never have enough Fat Wreck Chords in your life, here’s another new release from Fat! NOFX frontman Fat Mike has teamed up with Get Dead‘s Sam King on a new project called Codefendants. Check out the band’s new single below and order their 10″ split with Get Dead from Fat Wreck’s webstore.

A few Record Radars ago, we let you that the Transplants‘ self-titled debut album was getting a 20th Anniversary reissue. Well, those sold out really fucking quick so Hellcat Records has announced some additional, retailer-exclusive color variants. 1-2-3-4! Go Records and Smartpunk each have their own unique variants here in the US, and Banquet Records has an EU exclusive “cool blue” color variant.

Pirates Press Records is reissuing all seven Cock Sparrer LPs in honor of the band’s 50th Anniversary. You can get them individually for 20 bucks each, or as a set for $125 (that’s a savings of 15 dollars, folks!). No pretty colors here, just good ol’ black wax.

Just in time for the holiday season, Chris Farren‘s Like a Gift from God or Whatever is back in print on neon green colored vinyl. Head over to Asian Man Records‘ webstore and get a piece of this yuletide wax ?

Fraser from the Murderburgers is a busy guy! In addition to his current band Wrong Life (featured in Dying Scene’s Ten Underrated Punk Bands You Need To Check Out Right Now column) he has now announced another project called Absolute Melt. Check out the single “2am (The Face Changes Shape)” below, and go here to pre-order their upcoming 10″ EP. All profits from physical and digital sales will go to Scottish Women’s Aid, who help women, children and young people in Scotland affected by domestic abuse.

Black Friday Sales

The first Black Friday sale we’ll be highlighting comes to us from the purveyors of pop-punk at Mom’s Basement Records. For one day only, everything on their webstore (including that awesome distro section with The Windowsill‘s album that I just gave a 5-Star review ?) will be 30% off! Stay tuned to the label’s social profiles for more info. This is the sale of the year as far as I’m concerned.

Merchbar’s entire store is perpetually “on sale”, but their Black Friday Preview sale sees stuff marked down a bit more than usual. The sale has already started, and considering it ends in three days, I assume they’ll be having a proper BF sale later in the week. If you’re just looking for punk records and don’t want to waste precious time searching, you can find most of them here. Some highlights include the Ramones‘ Rocket to Russia ($17.99), NOFX‘s Pump Up the Valuum ($15.99), and Operation Ivy‘s Energy ($15.99).

If you’re looking for some gifts for the rude boy (or girl) in your life, Jump Up Records has you covered. They’re not having a sale per se, but they do have some awesome new shit on their webstore for Black Friday, including brand new reissues of some 90’s Moon Ska LPs, alongside a bunch of 7″s, CDs, and cassettes. Happy skalidays! ?

Everyone’s favorite indie record store Walmart is having a sale of their own. All vinyl records are $15 in-store at all Walmart locations (exclusives are discounted on their website as well). I’ve seen plenty of pearl-clutching going on about this sale, but I don’t give a fuck ? There are some good deals to be had here. I got The Clash‘s 3xLP Combat Rock + The People’s Hall for $15. There were a ton of WM’s new exclusive pressings of Green Day‘s American Idiot and International Superhits at my local store as well. There’s an ample supply of soundtracks and Luke Combs records, too, if you’re into that kinda thing. Sale ends Sunday, November 20th.

And of course, Wally World’s red competitor Tarshay has a sale, too. Starting Sunday, November 20th, all records (and movies, CDs, misc. other media) will be Buy 2, Get 1 Free. Is that cheaper than Walmart? I don’t know, I’m too lazy to do that math (probably not though). This sale will be online and in store, and there’s no limit on how many records you can buy. So if you really want all 375 copies of the new Adele album your local Target has in stock, load up that god damn cart!

Last but not least, we have Record Store Day Black Friday. Again, not much in the way of deals here, but there are some exclusive releases that may interest you. In addition to the 10th Anniversary reissue of Masked Intruder‘s debut LP we highlighted last week, you may also be interested in Goldfinger‘s Hello Destiny (reissued in honor of its 15th Anniversary), and a new Joe Strummer live acoustic album Live at Music Millennium. The only place you can (potentially) get these and all the other RSBF releases is your local record store on Black Friday (November 25th).

Greetings, and welcome to the Dying Scene Record Radar. If it’s your first time here, thank you for joining us! This is the weekly* column where we cover all things punk rock vinyl; new releases, reissues… you name it, we’ve probably got it. For the second week in a row, we’ve got an absolutely massive column, featuring nearly 20 records that got announced this week! So kick off your shoes, pull up a chair, crack open a cold one, and break out those wallets, because it’s go time. Let’s get into it!

One of my favorite records of 2023, Italian skate punks Wasei‘s new album Vulgar Misplay of Burkett, is now available in the US! Head over to Punk Rock Radar’s webstore to grab this ripper on pink vinyl, along with other awesome releases from Clayface, Baxter, Weekend Cigarettes & more.

This project was announced months ago, but now it’s available on vinyl! Fat Mike Gets Strung Out is a collection of songs Mr. Burkett has written (for NOFX and otherwise), which have been reimagined as orchestral pieces. If that’s something you feel like you need in your life, get the record here. Standalone colored vinyl sold out, but you can still get it on black wax (or fork over for one of the bundles with a colored LP and shirt).

Australian punks Clowns have a new album on the way! It’s called Endless, and it’s due out October 20th on Fat Wreck Chords. On the vinyl side of things, there are a ton of color variants for this thing – at least 9 that I’m aware of. Pre-order the record here (US), here (EU, pink), here (EU, green w/ white & silver splater), or here (AUS). There will be a ton of indie variants as well, so check with your local record store on those.

New Jersey’s Joker’s Republic released one of my favorite ska-punk albums last year, but until now it was only available on CD. The band has joined forces with Ska Punk International to give Necessary Evil the vinyl release it deserves. This album was recorded and produced by Less Than Jake’s Roger Lima at The Moathouse. Long running German street punk band Stomper 98 have announced their new self-titled album, due out September 1st. It’s the band’s seventh LP in their 25 year career, and the second to feature Rancid‘s Lars Frederiksen on guitar. Check out the music video for lead single “Alex – Schatten der Nacht” below and pre-order the record here.

Cleveland pop-punks Normy follow up their 2022 EP What on God’s Green Earth? with a new 6-song 12″ titled What the Fuck Planet Are These Guys From?. It’s due out September 8th on Smartpunk Records – check out the first single “Idiot” below. Pre-order the record here, there are three color variants, each with a screen printed B-Side.

Another awesome upcoming release from Smartpunk Records: Keep Flying‘s debut LP Daylight is coming August 15th. Check out the new single “Transparency” below and pre-order the record here.

Seattle pop-punk band The Subjunctives (fronted by Ean Hernandez of Sicko) will release their sophomore album Let’s Try This Again on September 16th. Check out the first single below and pre-order the record here. Also go back and check out their last album Sunshine and Rainbows if you haven’t already heard that.

Mom’s Basement and Monster Zero Records rarely miss, and they hit a fucking grand slam with their latest release from The Haermorrhoids. I’m calling it now, At the Earth’s Core is the Ramonescore record of the year. Absolutely essential listening for fans of Screeching Weasel, The Lillingtons, etc. Check out my favorite track “Timewarp Incest” below and get the record here (US) or here (EU).

Connecticut melodic hardcore band With Honor have a new record coming soon. Boundless is due out September 9th on Pure Noise Records. Check out their killer new single “My Anchor” below and pre-order the record here.

Camp Punksylvania is a three-day punk rock festival happening September 1st-3rd in Scranton, PA. A few names on the absolutely bitchin’ lineup include the Suicide Machines, A Wilhelm Scream, Belvedere & Tsunami Bomb. They’ve teamed up with the friendly people at Sell the Heart Records to release a compilation LP. Get it here.

Devon Kay & The Solutions‘ new EP Fine: A Ska EP is out now on Bad Time Records! Check it out below, buy it here, and catch the band on tour with Less Than Jake.

Our last new release of the week comes from Pirates Press Records, back at it again with another split 7″. It’s The Drowns and Wonk Unit, contributing one new song each. Check out The Drowns’ track below and get the 7″ here!

Now, to wrap things up with some reissues / represses. Up first: Jawbreaker – Bivouac! A new exclusive variant from Oakland’s own 1-2-3-4 Go! Records. Limited to 550 copies on Metallic Gold colored vinyl. First new pressing in 6 years. Get it here.

Also from 1-2-3-4 Go! Records: Kid Dynamite‘s self-titled debut LP on an exclusive “Dragonfruit” color variant, limited to 350 copies. Get dat here.

Los Angeles hardcore veterans DFL‘s 1993 debut My Crazy Life is getting its first-ever vinyl release, thanks to Trust Records. Two color variants: blue wax is limited to 250 copies, green is limited to 500. The record has been remastered and comes with a sweet looking fanzine. Get it here.

Pirates Press released a Subhumans box set earlier this year. It sold out instantly and is now selling for over $400 on Discogs. Good news for those who missed out: it’s getting a second pressing! Pre-orders go live here on Tuesday, July 25th. I know that’s still a ways away, just wanted to give ya a heads up.

Last piece of housekeeping this week: the friendly Canadians at Thousand Islands Records are having a sale in their webstore! Get 35% off through July 31st with Code SUMMER35.
