Rare Green Day performance from 1992 to be released on CD

According to Spin CDs, a rare live-to-air set from Green Day will soon be released. The CD is called Green Day on the Radio. It’s called was recorded during the Kerplunk! Tour in 1992 in New Jersey and was broadcast live on the state’s radio station WFMU. At that performance, the band only performed songs from their first two albums 1,039/Smoothed Out Slappy HourKerplunk! and one song from Dookie called “All By Myself” (which appears as a hidden track on “F.O.D.”). Earlier this month, we reported that Green Day were teaming up with Epitaph for a reissue of their first two albums, 1990′s39/Smooth and 1992′s Kerplunk!, both on vinyl. A pre-order is available here. Speaking of reissues, Green Day debuted a new song last month called “Carpe Diem”, which will likely be on the new album they’ve been working on for a while. Their most recent studio album, 21st Century Breakdown, came out in 2009.

Earlier today, we reported that Green Day guitarist/vocalist Billie Joe Armstrong has started a family band called The Boo, which features his wife Adrienne and his two sons, Joey and Jakob.
