The Offspring release “Rock Prodigy” app

The Offspring have just released the “The Offspring: Rock Prodigy” app on iPad, iPhone and iPod Touch. The app uses any real guitar to teach real music skills and acts as a personal music teacher, walking through each song note-for-note as transcribed from The Offspring, including tips directly from Dexter Holland and Noodles. The application also has multiple skill levels, uses the original master tracks and listens to every note played, providing instant feedback.

With over two and half hours of songs and lessons, the app includes “Come Out and Play,” “The Kids Aren’t Alright,” and “You’re Gonna Go Far, Kid.” Also included are a number of bite-sized “Micro Lessons” to get fans playing the songs faster than ever. Each lesson covers subjects like punk rock rhythms, power chords, and East Indian scales. The app even features a leader board to see how you stack up against other fans.
