Absinthe Rose Bio:

based out of the Medford / Ashland Oregon area ABSINTHE ROSE was formed in 2008 as a solo acoustic project! The music has many influences and elements that can be shaped accordingly to the collective of musicians involved and was soon accompanied by friends and fellow musicians Chari on Washboard, Ash on Violin, and Leah on Saw! The band began performing regularly throughout the area where they quickly gained a large local following with their brand of punk influenced folk! In the spring of 2009 Kimbo Rose re-located to Boston, MA and self-released her debut CD entitled ABSINTHE ROSE "DIGGING DITCHES & ESCAPING HOLES" on her newly formed DIY label called SCREECH OWL RECORDS! This is a ten-track adventure of solo Acoustic Punk influenced Folk with both personal and political lyrics! The CD also includes a bonus track titled "Dotted Line" accompanied by bass, drums, and Keyboards giving the listener a taste of things to come! In the fall of 2009 Kimbo Rose partnered up with session players and long time friends from Boston, Bill on Bass and Rich on Drums, Nick on lead guitar to create a much more electrified version of the music! With Kimbo on lead vocals and guitars (both acoustic and electric) they began playing Boston area venues and is currently working on their new full length due to be released in the summer 2010! With the new elements offered by adding drums and bass and the occasional session players on various instruments the music has become more dynamic and unique incorporating many styles of punk, blues, folk and gypsy music while still retaining its heartfelt and charged DIY Political Folk Punk influence and integrity!
