Broken Bottles Bio:

So Cal gave us a lot of original punk bands, including Broken Bottles. The Broken Bottles formed in summer of 2000. When Rodney Bingenheimer got ahold of their single "Gothic Chicks", he started blasting it over the airwaves on his radio show "Rodney on The Roq". Broken Bottles hit the club scene. After the release of their 6 song e.p. "Not Pretty" in 2002, Wade Walston of U.S. Bombs and the film "Suburbia" fame, became Broken Bottles tour manager. In 2002 The Bottles released their first full length "In The Bottles" on TKo Records. "These guys seriously sound like they've discovered a time machine back to 1982. So Cal punk with just a touch of death rock for good measure. If you remember bands like "The Super Heroines", "RF7", and "Funeral", you will appreciate this. (JRM) "It's good mid-tempo punk. It's something you can tap your fingers to while you're wishing you weren't at work!" LOUD FAST RULES "The distortion from Ace's guitar blares through the Marshall half stack, Travis' bass just cruses through while Steve Gee pounds away on the drums!" DIEGO DEL SCORCHO - BIG WHEELS MAGAZINE Jesse fronts the band on vocals giving us this cut throat sound that can best be described as early Social Distortion, Agent Orange, TSOL, circa 1981. Broken Bottles have shared the stage with The Adolescents, TSOL, Agent Orange, The Dickies, JFA, The Dwarves, The Stitches, Smogtown, MDC, Smut Peddlers, Manic Hispanic, Duane Peters and The Hunns, The Lewd, Decry, Neighborhood Watch, Ciril, Swingin' Utters, D.I., Exploited, U.S. Bombs, and many more. This year broken Bottles completed their 2nd full length album titled "Hospital" which has been in heavy rotation on Sirius Satalite Radio. 2008 began with a tour in Japan and the U.S., with a European tour in the works. Broken Bottles continue to crank out intoxicating sing alongs and O.C. Anthems. .. ..

Review by H. Sapiens for Rating: I am giving this 5 stars beacsue it does what it is supposed to do stand upright while you load it up with bottles of every size. It has yet to tip, even with a curious cat about and being overloaded with some oversized glass bottles. An additional plus is that it comes apart for storage. The drip tray underneath is more than adequate and the base very sturdy ours actually is green, completing the holiday ensemble. Perhaps a not-so-red color would have been more easy on the eyes, but, hey, it’s a conversation piece!

I am new to this band. I have missed a lot. It took 15 years to find this band. Living in the High Desert it has been VERY hard to find punk music. In 2000, I was working at Target up here in Lancaster, and there was a lot of punks/goth/alternative people here, just like everywhere else, but being older, I just did not know of a ‘scene’ here. There actually was and still is, and I am just a casual punk, just enjoying he music and not going to shows, even if there arent too many. I am very limited to my listening, I like the old sound. Which brings me to this recording by Broken Bottles called Hospital. It takes me back to the early 1980’s. The sound is reminiscent of the L.A./O.C. sound of about late 1979 through about late 1982. By 1983, punk just went very hardcore and metal kinda crept into the punk sound (Social Distortion’s first record notwithstanding). Anyway, I really like this band. Really, a guy my age will love to watch this band live.I certainly love their record. Thanks, cause a band like this keeps punk alive and well.
