Hot Mess Bio:
HOT MESS is an indie-pop band based out of Chico, CA. Formed in the early summer of 2009 with members of some of the Chico music scene’s most noteworthy and respected bands (Gorgeous Armada, Aubrey Debauchery and the Puke Boots, Mute Witness), HOT MESS exploded onto the music scene to an overwhelmingly enthusiastic public reception.
With vocal powerhouse Storey Condos, the band (Ryan Maker - guitars/vocals, Pete Parada – drums, Marc Anderson - lap steel guitar, and Daniel Nelson – keys) boasts eclectic instrumentation that resonates like no other pop group in the scene today. The band strives to create innovative music that is inspired, but not derivative, of the wide variety of influences that inspired HOT MESS to make music in the first place.
The undeniable pop-appeal of HOT MESS is what has found the band sharing the stage with several notable, popular acts such as Trainwreck (featuring Kyle “KG” Gass of Tenacious D), Shelby Cobra, and The Shimmies, just to name a few. Since launching their website in November 2010, HOT MESS’s music has attracted new fans the world over, from Argentina to Portugal, India to Indiana, The United Kingdom to New Zealand and beyond—and the list continues to grow everyday.
Currently, HOT MESS is wrapping up post-production on its debut, self-titled album, set for release in Spring 2011. Look for the band to be supporting the album with a variety of live performances, including live shows, in-studio radio performances, interviews, and live webcasts.
