Sincerely Grizzly Bio:
Despite five years of covalent bonding with one another since their fabled encounter at an Anthropophobiacs Anonymous meeting in South-West North Korea; Sincerely, Grizzly still have no idea who they are or what they are doing, but it seems to be working for them.
Somehow the self-proclaimed literature rock trio have managed to tour the country with the band from which everything they do is derived, …And You Will Know Us By The Trail of Dead, supported the likes of Japandroids, Cloud Nothings, Bob Mould and The Presidents of the United States of America, as well as play the Laneway (courtesy of being Unearthed by Triple J), Big Day Out and Bigsound festivals.
The myriad of shows and tours however have come at the expense of releases. With only a couple of singles and an EP to their name, the band has lacked a body of work which accurately and comprehensively represents their strange and conflicting nature.
The release of their debut album, Halves, now seeks to rectify this. Created over two meticulous years by Jez Giddings at Hot House, mixed in part by the former and in part by Brad Wood (Sunny Day Real Estate, Smashing Pumpkins, Placebo), the album is the bands’ attempt to understand and define black and white. And Grey.
Rather than write anymore about it, please just listen to it.
