Ceremony sign to Matador Records (what?!), releasing “Covers” EP on Bridge Nine

Things continue to progress for Ceremony.  The Bay Area hardcore act has just announced their departure from Bridge Nine Records to… wait for it… oh, you already read it in the title?  Fine.  Yes, Matador Records, home to bands like Sonic Youth, Pavement and Interpol.  No word on when we can expect to see their first release with the new label, but the band will be releasing a “Covers” EP on Bridge Nine before their official departure.  The 6-song EP will feature cover songs from Urban Waste, Pixies, Crisis, Eddie and the Subtitles, Vile and Wire, and it was recorded with Dan Rathbun as outtakes during the Rohnert Park recording session (tracklist).  Street date on that is August 9th.

Ceremony’s latest album “Rohnert Park” was released June 8th Bridge Nine.

Urban Waste – Public Opinion
Pixies – Nimrod’s Son
Crisis – Holocaust
Eddie and the Subtitles – American Society (L7 version)
Vile – 5 to 10
Wire – Pink Flag
