“Clash of the Titans” tour reboot rumored to be in the works

Clash of the Titans. Do you remember that tour from the early 90’s? Were you even alive back then? Did you miss it when it happened? Well, now rumors have been floating around that a reboot of this legendary tour will happen next year or so in honor of its 30th anniversary.

However, as indicated by the Facebook page Thrash Metal Family, the rebooted “Clash of the Titans” tour may not include Slayer (who are in the middle of their final world tour) but likely Megadeth and Testament. Other thrash veteran acts, including Kreator, Exodus, Death Angel, Overkill and Anthrax, have been suggested a fill-in for Slayer, while “new school” bands such as Suicidal Angels, Havok and Warbringer have been suggested to open the tour.

There were two lineups of the “Clash of the Titans” tour. The first one took place in Europe in September and October 1990 and it was co-headlined Megadeth and Slayer, and supported by Testament and Suicidal Tendencies. A U.S. leg from 1991 was triple-headlined by Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax and the opening act was none other than Alice in Chains. Megadeth and Slayer actually toured together again back in 2010, co-headlining the “American Carnage” tour, with the first leg supported by Testament and the second by Anthrax.

We’ll keep you updated when details on the rebooted “Clash of the Titans” tour surface!
