Detroit, MI punk act Death (not to be confused with the pioneering death metal act of the same name) have released a stream of their new studio album, N.E.W., ahead of its April 21 release date. on April 21, 2015 via Tryangle / Drag City Records. The album is noted for being the the band’s first recorded output of new material in nearly 40 years, as the band’s other albums (…For the Whole World to See, Spiritual | Mental | Physical, and III) were all archival collections of unreleased recordings.

Death originally broke up in 1977, but reformed in 2009 when Drag City uncovered and released their first album …For the Whole World to See. Since then, interest in the band has grown exponentially, particularly after the release of the 2012 documentary A Band Called Death.
