Eli Whitney & the Sound Machine change name to Cold Wrecks, announce new album ‘Breaking’, and stream new song “Drawbridge”

Brooklyn sometimes ska/sometimes punk/all-time feels act Eli Whitney & The Sound Machine have officially announced that they are abandoning their old name and will be now known as Cold Wrecks. The name change came about because, as the band puts it:

“[W]hen we started working on new songs together, we knew we were a completely different band, and didn’t feel comfortable using the old band’s moniker and songs.”

Additionally, Cold Wrecks have announced a new album titled Breaking. and are streaming the album’s first single, “Drawbridge.” Produced and engineered by Jesse Cannon and Mike Oettinger, Breaking will be released on July 11, 2016 and can be pre-ordered here.  You can check out “Drawbridge” and read more about the name change here.

Cold Wrecks (as Eli Whitney & the Sound Machine) last released Tiny Refuge in October 2015. The band plans on re-releasing the EP under their new name in the future.
