FREE Music: Onward, Etc.’s “Son of Neptune”

South Dakota acoustic-punk act Onward, etc is offering a free download of the song “Son of Neptune,” which is the good news.  The lousy news is that Rosco Wuestewald is taking some much-needed time off from touring, and essentially putting himself on a bit of a hiatus.  The prolifically touring musician has decided to take the summer off, but he reassures fans that the project is “far from over.”

You can read Rosco’s full statement, which appeared today on his Facebook page, below.

Dear fans, friends & family,

As most of you know me personally. My heart has been dipped into the road for over 10 years now. Endless tours and countless miles traveled. Hundreds of venues, houses and festivals. Forty-nine States, over a dozen countries, tons of cities and plenty of small country towns. After a long due thought and even longer conversations with myself, I’ve decided to try something different this year. I’ve made a personal choice to step back from touring this summer. If you know me well enough you know that my heart resides in the wild. Though the road is always on my mind it will be a little different than my usual summers of touring, I’ll still be working tirelessly on my musical journey. I’ll be releasing a ton of new music, videos and updates of my explorations. Onward, Etc. is far from over. In fact, I think you’ll find that this decision will benefit the eventual outcome. My heart is in need of the one place that has held me closer than any pair arms. I’ll be spending my time riding rivers in Alaska for a few months while I write, record and play for the Wolves Of The North once again.

With that being said, I can’t thank you all enough for your constant support, love, gratitude and dedication that you have put into something that I’ve loved, laughed, screamed, bled, cried and sweat over for years. As you all know I’ve seen and gone through some shit along the way. I have the best support, friends, family and fans a person could ask for. I wanted to personally thank you all by releasing this “FREE TRACK” to download and enjoy. So Onward to a new journey but expect an explosion of touring come fall. Plans for full US and Europe will be in the near future. All that I ask is that in my time away from the regular world, keep Onward, Etc. in your ear and mainly in your hearts. I’ll be seeing you soon.
For now,
Bon Voyage.

Truly,
Rosco Wuestewald
“Onward, Etc.”
