Fun Factoid Friday: MxPx doing their part to influence and inspire…The Jonas Brothers?!

Every Friday the punk rock geniuses here at Dying Scene are going to unleash a little bit of punk scene trivia all over your asses. Today’s “fun factoid” is about the far flung influences of a punk band on an unlikely musician.

You know that phrase “God works in mysterious ways?” Since this is a punk rock website, lets take it in a different direction: “Punk works in mysterious ways.” MxPx can attest to that. No doubt a lot of punk bands did their part in molding the convictions of many a young mind and later helped define a way of life for some of us old timers. Believe it or not, punk music can extend its influences onto musicians far outside of the punk scene. Kevin Jonas (of THE Jonas Brothers) recently revealed that it was at a punk rock show (MxPx) that he realized he wanted to be a musician.“Even though our sound is not necessarily there, it definitely had some influences on who I am as a guitarist. To see a band that could play and sing and really entertain the crowd and the crowd was just so into everything, it really blew my mind.” Interesting, who would have thought?
