Glenn Danzig to play two “legacy” shows this year

After playing a series of “legacy” gigs last year (yes, even that controversial performance at Fun Fun Fun Fest), “horror rock” icon Glenn Danzig has scheduled at least two performances where he will not only play songs from his own band Danzig, but also songs from his two former bands Misfits and Samhain.

The two only performances confirmed so far are this year’s Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival, which takes place in June, and prior to that, a performance at the Irvine Meadows Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine, California on May 26th. No further more “legacy” shows have been announced, but as usual, stay tuned for updates.

The Danzig band last released Deth Red Sabaoth in 2010.

ChrisDude – why you still making something out of Danzig calling out sick? Is this DS or TMZ? Danzig had a tough guy persona in his prime. It was part of his schtick. But at the end of the day, he’s just a working musician. He gets to call out sick, and he doesn’t have anything to prove to the greedy promoter. It was a huge dick move for the promoter to try to knock a tooth out of Danzig’s already tathered stage persona – it’s the way the man makes his living. And can’t we forgive the man for getting old? I sure as hell feel older than I felt when I was listening to classic tough guy Danzig back in the day, and I’m a good decade younger than he is. Running the link about that so-called “controversial performance” is no better than the main stream media piling on 50 year old Axl Rose because he doesn’t look like a slender 19 year old sleaze bag from the gutter anymore. It’s lame.
