Guttermouth guitarist explains decision to release new EPs

Guttermouth guitarist Geoff Davis was recently interviewed by Punktastic.com, where he talked about the band’s decision to put out two EPs instead of a full-length studio album. He states:

“To be honest, even with ‘Got It Made’, there really wasn’t pressure to put that out. What led to that happening is we were finally just in a place where we wanted to write a few songs and if we were happy how they came out, we would put it out. ‘Got It Made’ went well and we had a little bit of creative juice left, so we went to work on ‘New Car Smell’. Rude Records and Bird Attack Records did a collab on both releases and with their support, it happened.”

The Got It Made EP was released on July 15th via Bird Attack and Rude Records. New Car Smell will be released later this month (November 25th) on those two labels. Guttermouth’s recent full-length, Shave the Planet, was released in 2006 via Volcom Entertainment.
