Interview: Jay Bentley on the future of Bad Religion

In an interview with The Aquarian Weekly, bassist Jay Bentley was asked if Bad Religion would continue as a band after 30 years of recording of performing. He replied:

“As a band, you want to put out the greatest record in history. That’s one reasonable goal. [Laughs] You want to play Madison Square Garden once in your life. But all of those things don’t really make that much of a difference. I think right now, we’re in this wonderfully comfortable area where we’re allowed to create and we’re allowed to go and play. We’re just really happy. I think in 2000, if it would have stopped, I would’ve been fairly bitter. I look at it right now in 2010, and if it all stops tomorrow, I’m okay with that.”

Bad Religion is currently on tour supporting their new album The Dissent of Man, which was released almost exactly a month ago. Last week, they announced that they are going to release a vinyl box set featuring all 15 of their studio albums (including their 1983 long-out of print and forgotten album Into the Unknown).
