New Music: Tim Timebomb and Friends stream instrumental version of “Jim Dandy”

This morning’s new Tim Timebomb and Friends song is called “Jim Dandy Version.” Check it out here.

Even though it’s just an instrumental, I’m betting most of you will probably recognize the song. The original, written by Lincoln Chase and first recorded in 1956 by LaVern Baker, was named one of The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame’s 500 “Songs that Shaped Rock and Roll.”

Tim Timebomb is the latest side project from Rancid‘s Tim Armstrong, who has been releasing a long series of singles on iTunes every week since the beginning of November 2012 through Hellcat Records. Tim has been busy touring with Rancid.
