Noodles says The Offspring have a couple of songs done for new release

In a recent interview, The Offspring guitarist Noodles revealed that the band has a couple of songs done for their next release, which will be the follow-up to 2012’s Days Go By. Noodles explains:

“We already have a couple of things done — one song we really feel strongly about and want to get out there, and three, four, five songs, total, done or close to done. Trying to do it on the road it ends up being piecemeal and a little weird, so we’re going to wait ’til we get home and have a couple of days rest and then go in and do the vocals and see what happens.”

Noodles also stated that the band is exploring a variety of options for releasing new material, explaining, “I think the way the world is now, why make the fans wait for these songs we have now for two years or whatever, when we have a whole new record ready. We might do an EP now or release them as singles and eventually compile them all into a record. It’s so amazing how you can get your music to your fans now, get your ideas to your fans, your artwork or whatever. The fact that you took a shit on the bus and can tweet that and the fans will laugh — hopefully they’ll laugh. But it’s amazing how immediate everything can be now. It wasn’t like that when we started.”

The Offspring released the covers EP Summer Nationals exclusively on iTunes and Spotify via Time Bomb last month, which was released to coincide with the Summer Nationals tour with Bad ReligionPennywiseThe Vandals and Stiff Little Fingers. The band planning to self-release a new single this fall.
