Punk Rock Trivia: Trever Keith before Face To Face

Every once in a while the punk rock geniuses here at Dying Scene unleash a tasty little nugget of punk rock trivia in an effort to blow our readers’ minds. Also, we like to make ourselves feel smart. Today’s “fun factoid” is about Trever Keith, and the origins of Face To Face.

Trever started his first band called Victoria Manor back in 1987 with his friends Matt Riddle, Matthew Altmire, and Rick Altmire. They never released any albums, but they had a demo tape called Side One. The group intended to record another tape called Side Two, but it never happened and Victoria Manor suddenly split up. Trever and Matt would work together again by forming another band called Zero Tolerance. After they found Rob Kurth as their drummer through mutual friends, Zero Tolerance started writing and rehearsing songs. They also hired Kurth’s friend Mark Haake as their guitarist for a couple of months before he got shipped off to the Middle East with the Air Force. Like Victoria Manor, Zero Tolerance never recorded a proper album, but they did put out at least one demo in 1989. After playing a handful of local shows, Haake left Zero Tolerance in 1991 and the band eventually changed their name to Face to Face. The rest was history.
