It’s been a rough couple of weeks for Such Gold. As you all know frontman Ben Kotin was stabbed, causing the band to have to drop off their recent tour. Now guitarist Tim Heald has recently left the band. Heald is being replaced by Skylar Sarkis (from Massachusetts based band Building) who is filling in for Kotin on a few dates. Here’s what the band had to say about the lineup change:
Last week we announced that our good friend Skylar Sarkis will be filling in for Ben on vocals for our upcoming May dates with Living With Lions. This week we would like to announce that after our May tour, Skylar will permanently replace Tim Heald on guitar. Tim is leaving on good terms and he will be missed.
Although Skylar currently lives and attends school in Boston, he is an old friend of ours from home, and was the first person we considered contacting when it was time to find a replacement. He is a talented guitar player, a dedicated band-mate, and we’re confident that he’ll be a great addition to Such Gold. We look forward to touring and writing our full-length with him this Spring.
With Tim gone and Skylar on vocal duty, our good friend Kevin Mahoney from Hit The Lights will be filling in on guitar for a few of our May dates.
Such Gold will be releasing a split with Into It. Over It. They released their last EP “Pedestals” last year on Mightier Than Sword.
