The Offspring to release new music for free?

The Offspring guitarist Noodles recently spoke to Australia’s Scene Magazine about the band’s “departure” from Columbia Records. He stated the band is open to possibility of releasing new music for fans to download for free:

“At this point, all options are open. Either we go back and try and renegotiate a deal with Columbia or work with someone else or maybe even make our music free on the internet. In a way it’s very liberating, as well as being scary, not knowing what to do and having to figure it out for ourselves, but you know, we’ve been doing this for quite a while and I’m sure we’ll land on our feet.”

The Offspring last released Days Go By in June 2012, and are currently working on a new album with Bob Rock. They also have new singles in the works.
