The Replacements stream first song since 1990

The Replacements are streaming their brand new song “I’m Not Sayin'”, which is a cover of Gordon Lightfoot, over at Pitchfork.com. It is their first song in 23 years, and will appear on their highly anticipated reunion EP of covers Songs for Slim, which was made to help pay medical bills for former guitarist Slim Dunlap.

The Replacements, who finally reformed last October, called it quits back in 1991 after twelve years together, spanning seven full-length studio albums (the last being 1990’s All Shook Down), a live album and an EP. The band currently has no further plans besides the new covers EP.

Last January, we covered The Replacements in our Sacred Cow Saturday column here.
