Pussy Riot members released from prison

Maria Alyokhina and Nadezhda Tolokonnikova, the two remaining imprisoned members of Pussy Riot, have been released.

The women were serving a two year sentence for their participation in an anti-Putin performance. Their release comes only two months ahead of schedule, as part of an amnesty law announced by Putin.

Tolokonnikova and her husband, Pyotr Verzilov, said that the amnesty law is a publicity stunt by Putin to bolster his image ahead of the upcoming Sochi Olympics.
